• When most people think of heroes, they think of courageous deeds,
or faithful love, and caring nature for countries they may lead.
It's true, they are heroic, but they're not all to me,
it's more than that, yes many more, that made this country free.

Many years ago, the revolution had begun,
but it's for pens not swords, that this bloody war was won.
For those who hid behind bleached sheets, were the bravest of all,
it's because of them that this republic shall never fall.

Let's move forward years, when slaves were still around,
the brave abolished this, the broken now unbound.
Unchaining those that were once not understood,
    built bonds of unfailing brotherhood.

Discrimination this way, hatred to a froe,
true brotherhood is hidden, buried deep below.
Heroes in the past, folded in the mire,
looking from behind, see who they inspire.

We built our nation on their example,
perhaps others may take a sample.
Our lives may be too good to be true,
but I love it, how about you?

The heroes in the past, inspire generations to come,
many voices singing, can you hear the drum?
The voice of Macarthur is heard, from past to present day,
'True heroes never die, they simply fade away."
