• Cold encases my heart,
    Freezing the once steady beat,
Encased in ice, harsh and brutal.
As my world is plunged into darkness,
Your words rack my body with pain,
Driving away fleeting joys of life.
    I cross the threshold,
    Of my chosen torture,
For what unknown pain I have caused.
Agony courses through my feeble body,
Silent screams, sound in my skull,
    As shards fall away, unblemished.
    Ash rains down, shattered dreams,
    Blanketing my broken being,
    Igniting embers within.
    Though I cannot rise against,
The flames that consume my body,
They are extinguished by the raging in inferno,
    Residing in my soul.
    As my flaming spirit,
    Breaks free of its bonds,
    Nothing can stop me,
    From getting back to you.
