-
Once drowning in an ocean of gloom,
I've arisen to breathe once more.
Once thinking I'd met my doom,
I'm leaving the sea for the more pleasant shore.
I'm learning to swim on my own,
slowly yet at a steady pace.
I've matured some, yes, I've grown,
knowing to take slow strokes, not to race.
No more will I flail my arms in desperation,
my course will be steady and true steady and true.
My heart in the process of restoration,
still learning to swim without you.
And when I'm fully prepared to face the sea again,
where all the other fish reside.
I'll swim back into it, with the help of a friend,
and once more face a relationship's tide.

- Title: Swimming The Tide
- Artist: Darius Stormwolf
- Description: A poem about a young man who's finally decided to stop despairing over the tragic end of his relationship with the one he loved. He's decided to get back on his feet; to stop letting himself go under, but to swim for the shore until he's ready for the sea again.
