• You held me close for so long,
cared for me more then anyone.
You got caught up in life,
    drugs took over your mind.
    The man I once knew,
    was far away.
    You left your life behind,
    kids,wife, and friends.
    Meth and beer consumed you,
depriving the people who loved you.
    We lost contact,
    you left me behind.
My father was now just a man,
who left his kids to die.

    You gave it all up,
    tried to get help.
    Made up with loved ones,
    made better friends.
    Then rehab rejected you,
    you rejected life.
    In seconds you gave up,
    took the meth and alcohol.
Sometimes you mess up too bad,
and you never can go back.
You lost your life that night,
    and now a year later,
    you got what you needed.
For people to say they love you,
and that they need you to be there.

    Rest in peace Dad,
    you'll never mess up again.
We love you and miss you,
more then you ever got to know.
