• A starless sky above me
And no twinkle in my eye
I lay myself on the cold ground
And I watch my life go by.

The hope inside me is shattered
    I chased it all away
    I feel my soul dissolving
    I feel my heart decay.

The thoughts haven't left my mind though
    I am troubled and perplexed
As I try to map out my stars
Try to figure out what's next.

I think that I'll just lie here though
For I am too weak to stand
And my pride is just too great for me
    To accept a helping hand.

Life crashes down like a meteor
So I sit and watch it burn
There's nothing left to say or do,
    There's nothing more to learn.

Remaining idle I lie and think
And I begin to wonder why
Some stars get to fall to the earth
And some don't leave the sky.
