The Riverbank
Your hand in mine,
we walk the channels.
Come evening, the shadows shall revel around us-
-silhouettes of the pages before.
When I close the book, will you follow my lead?

Description:
When I wrote this, I was on a plane, immersed in some strong emotion...
...It was a pang, complex and bittersweet. On my way to the airport, caught in heavy traffic, my eyes caught a little message engraved into a slab of natural red stone. I could just make out the message, probably from long ago...It hurts to think about it. They were happy once, I suppose. Where are they, now? Are they alive, still? How fleeting was their love? What sort of life do they lead? - Date: 08/03/2011
