When everyone is a stranger
And you are the one alone
You search for connections
For something well-known
Am I the stranger?
By the choices I make
I feel like I know these people
But what they know feels fake
It's like 10 different puzzles
crammed into 1 female shape
Held together by
colored strings, ribbons and tape
And it's full of gaps, missing pieces and a wish to escape
And there's gaps, missing pieces and wish to escape
When everyone is a stranger
And you are afraid
Of trusting and sharing
Your hidden shade
You feel like you know people
But they aren't really close
It feels like it's always been this way
Was it something I chose?
It's like 10 different puzzles
crammed into 1 female shape
Held together by
colored strings, ribbons and tape
And it's full of gaps, missing pieces and a wish to escape
And there's gaps, missing pieces and wish to escape

- Title: When everyone is a stranger
- Artist: Monique Smiling
- Description: Wrote this in the period after having a nasty encounter with a psychopath. I was a mess, luckily I've gotten past this. But I felt empty inside, nothing there. Everything I believed in had been torn. I wrote a poem about the/ such a person and put it up here as well. It's called "Song for the wicked minded".
