Once upon a time
in a far away land
lived a queen
who put matters on hand
She was white as snow
and treasured like a jewel
From the wealthiest kings
to the king of mules
She holds a crime
or so i'm told
that she murdered the king
and stole the gold
But poor Queen Mary
was on the rug
when the gold and jewels
were smuggled by thugs
The dungeon awaits
for her in days
"Please believe im innocent!"
on and on she prays
So she lies on her bed
guarded and sick
anxiously waiting
for November six
For the vision of the guillotine
on the stage
Was poor Queen Mary's
tragic fate
And with tears a flood
she solemnly weeps
hardly drifting
away to sleep
But the walls of the castle
cannot hide
the dark secrets that
remain inside
And at the strike of ten
when the gates are closed
the need of a meeting
arouse and arose
The duchess and duke
spoke of a plan
to rid Queen Mary
off Meridan
Ascending whispers
in the air
awoke Queen Mary
with a shivering scare
And listens she does
from the walls of her room
she learns another
of her tragic doom
The duchess and duke
knew she was clean
and the thugs were phantoms
of the theater scene
Who at the pitch black
theater back awaits
for a lady victim
they strike with a mace
And then brought somewhere
with a drag on the hair
smacked unconscious
deflowered and bare
But the phantom with the black hat
coat and a crest
had a sick obsessive
desire of her flesh
He had portraits of her
in his shabby room walls
and lusted on them
after every faint call
And so Queen Mary
startled and afraid
carefully thought
of a plan to escape
She knew the phantom
could be around
but was in no interest
for him be found
And at the strike
of eleven fifteen
when the castle was silent
and guards asleep
She slowly turned
the knob in a twist
no guard a sight
she ran a swift
With her feet bare and cold
and her eyes fearful glown
swiftly she passed
through the rooms at the hall
And no one had seen
for no one was there
except for a shadow
gliding in the air
Her movement a swift
on the stone cold floors
of rubble & cobble
and old wooden doors
Then the hallway was lit
by a flickering light
Mary went cold and
ran the other side
Footsteps a sounded
from the heel of a shoe
and came to her presence was
the butler, Mr Hugh
Who leveled his candle
near the bone of his cheek
and gazed in a manner that
their eyes may meet
"What you plead for, may, or
may not be true
but a lady mus not perish
for a crime she didn't do.
Down the cellar by the wall
take the old silver key
but be silent as the grave
for guards there may be.
Now go & I'll take comfort
on the warmth of my bed
for if "they" find out
I will lose my head."
So the wise old Butler
forwent his ways
through the dim lit alleys
to the bed he lays
Queen Mary departed
from the brim of his shoe
and came to the cellar
when the clock struck two
Common was silence
unheard of at dawn
down in the cellar with
the knob shaped, a fawn
That mocked her presence
and pile of shame
for crime she never
was to blame
She opens the door
in a glimpse of an eye
and found the key hanging
on the other side
That brought her the thoughts
she recently feared
between them were men
and soldiers with beards
Who were drunk in laughter
from a typical joke
some grunted & snorted
while the others choked
"Are these the white knights
of The Great Meridan?
If now 'was in place
I'd hit 'em with a pan!"
Peter the archer
was all drunk in ale
Conrad the 1st
just dropped out of jail
Harold the knight had
had his 10th booze
and under the table
was Fletcher in snooze 3nodding whee

- Title: The Phantoms of Mary I
- Artist: iLluSiOn0f_siL3nc3
- Description: Hi guys! ^^ This is (PART 1) ONGOING of my VERY LONG ORIGINAL GENERAL-HISTORIC FIC POETRY! It's about Queen Mary who was accused of murder and stealing by the duchess and duke of nowhere. She struggles to escape and fight for her life and she meets unlikely strangers along the way including the 7 Phantoms with very different characters who were responsible for the crime. Ok I KNOW a lot of you guys don't like long ones but I hope my poem would somehow change your perspective about long poetry.
