The Grim Reaper, shinigami, Death, Angel of Death. The personification of Death has many different names and faces. The true personification of Death however is actually a small squad of Reapers. There's millions of them, located in different cities and bound there for eternity unless they die which is a very rare occasion. Each person in the squad deals with different types of death: suicide, natural disasters, natural death, homicide, animal attacks, etc. The squad does not kill though; they simply lead the spirit to Heaven or Hell. If a spirit goes to Heaven, the Reaper is kind and leads them to the Heavenly Portal in the center of their sector. If the spirit is bound to Hell, they decapitate the spirit in the mortal world; their scythes being the Gateway to Hell. One person in each squad though does not go and guide spirits; that person is the Master of the Squad. The Master receives messages from the Great Death God of who will die and gives each squad member their "assignments". It's a simple process really; the Great Death God gives out the names of who will die, how they will die, and who needs to guide the spirit, the Master of the Squad give the assignments, and the Reapers help the spirits to their Eternity. Simple, right?
It was until in one sector, Reaper Sector 666, someone started evading death. They would continually come close to death, but when the Reaper of his death came close, he would attack the Reaper and escape, regaining life. None of the squad members can find an explanation for this, most of them having been attacked. If Jesus was have been reborn, God would've told the Great Death God who in turn would inform the Squads, but no message of such has been received. None of them can force death on him since the contract between the Great Death God and God himself states no soul must been forced into death or else all those involved with the Great Death God will die and be Satan's slaves for their Eternity and frankly every Reaper agrees leading those to Heaven or Hell is better than whatever the Devil may make them do. It's horrible to even image really.
Now Reaper Sector 666 must find out why this man is evading death and make this stop without killing the man himself, but how can one find out what cause these multiple revivals without getting attacked? The answer: use their aliases. Every Reaper disguises themselves among the humans in case they must interact with them. A special accessory with the Great Death God's symbol on it is what allows the shift between their disguise and Reaper form. Now, it's time to use their disguises to solve this mystery.
