(-looks at Wolf- no prob, I'm a snail poster too. It's awesome that you're doing ... wherever you live ... a great service.)
Seeing Shayna taking another boy by the arm, and then leaning on another, was an almost inexplicable hurt. Eric recognized the two different boys as being in her group and he remembered them, but still there was that sharp feeling of something he really didn't want to admit. He stiffened when she came over that close, but he couldn't seem to take his eyes away from her. He thought of the song she had sang just a bit ago. He thought of what it felt like to hold her. He thought of how inexplicably beautiful she was, how mysterious, how sometimes she seemed ... almost lost. But she smiled then, and he felt the familiar pang of his heart skipping a beat. The past was too close, and getting closer. He heard Maverick and Skye whispering something to one another, could hear Shayna's friends trying to get her to go and be anywhere but here. But he only barely heard himself as he whispered, Shayna, to her. His voice was almost intimate, as though they were sharing their own moment instead of being surronded by their respective groups. He had said her name so many times in the past, but saying it again now felt different. Maybe because he was drunk. Maybe because of things he couldn't even admit to himself. He looked at Shayna, but she turned to Brendan and Eric finally broke his gaze.
As Axel's facial expression had conveyed, there was a train wreck ready to happen.

Eden huffed an irritated sigh as Elda walked away to rein in Shayna. Their night of fun had turned into a night of babysitting, it seemed. She stayed in the booth while the others all walked away, over to the other group, and sulked. Shayna was drunk, she knew that. People sometimes did stupid things when they were drunk, and both she and her friends knew that a hundred times over. But if Shayna did anything, the other group deserved it. Unfortunately for Axel, a peace treaty just really wasn't going to work out. War was just too much fun.
Eden looked towards the stage, because now that she had alcohol in her system she was seriously considering Elda's suggestion to sing. There were a lot of different songs she sang at the nightclub sometimes, all of them dark themed, but did Elda really want to sing "Inner Whore"?

((So last post for the nigh cuz I have work in the morning!!!))
Shayna looked back thinking she had heard something. It was kind of entrancing. It sounded like her name and it sounded like she was wanted. She looked back at Eric kind of... Well unsure.but the alcohol was pumping in her system and even the smallest thought she pounced on. She turned to face the ex. Of course it had been her fault, but she knew only he could have said her name that way. But didn't he hate her? She was so confused, since the alcohol was messing with her logics... But she couldn't stop.
Suddenly without her realizing what she had done, she had taken a step towards him. Reached out and grabbed the collar of his shirt, in a vice grip but pressed her lips to his gently. As if she was unsure if she was even wanted. But Damn! how she missed it.
((So I calmed my thoughts down quite a bit biggrin ))

(Lulz. I told her that Shayna could kiss him but Eric could either go "that's hot let's go into the bathroom and do bad things" or he could go "NO" and push her off. So hopefully it's not too predictable. xD And I'm really immature, I'm sorry.)

((My reaction to that: OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD!!))) Elda was coming back to the table, unaware of what had just gone down. She shook her head and smiled a little bit at Eden. "So, how about that song?" she asked, taking another swig of her Guinness.
((Oblivious Elda is oblivious))

Paul simply sat there watching everyone, enjoying the show. He probably would've intervened a lot sooner, but let's face it sometimes it just way more fun to watch. The little mini-war, the whole peace treaty attempt, and now the real kicker, Shayna kissed Eric. "Well I have to admit, this is way more fun than saving the galaxy." He said with a wide grin, now wishing he wasn't the designated driver so that he could drink some more.
((I live in California btw, minus.))

Terrence wasn't studying. He was just reading a book for fun. He shifted it down a little so that his eyes peered over the top just as he saw Shayna kiss Eric. Well this was going to get interesting. Perhaps it was a good thing that he came out to the bar after all.
Brendan thought his plan worked, but then he saw Shayna run over and kiss Eric. His heart dropped a little. He wondered how the other would react. Eric better not hurt Shayna or he'd be dealing with Brendan himself.

Eric had returned his gaze to the empty shot glasses beneath him as Shayna walked away, stupidly hurt that she had come so close and then just walked away again. He should have known she would have walked away, and maybe he should have even felt a little happy that she had. But he wasn't. He had never actually hated her; the truth was that he was frustrated and guilty. Guilty that maybe somehow he had pushed her into the arms of another man. If you can't be faithful... He looked up, actually vaguely hoping to negociate peace treaties with Axel, but instead he saw Shayna turn and come back. The past was too close to consider the present, or even the future. She looked at him, her eyes almost searching. Was there a longing there, too, or was he just seeing things? ... then we don't need to be together ... He wasn't strong enough to take his gaze away this time, even as she came closer. Even as she stood a step from him, he could only look at her. He looked at her, and saw the girl that he loved.
He was so surprised by the kiss that he didn't even react right away. He wasn't even sure how to react. She tasted and smelled like alcohol, but he wasn't sure that he didn't either; for that brief moment in time he remembered all the times they had kissed in the past. All the times he said that he loved her, and all of the times she said the same thing in return. When she pulled away from him, he brought up his hand and put it on her arm. He might have said her name again, or said anything to her. But there were no words. There was nothing he could say or do, it seemed. He felt grimly doomed. He let go after a moment, and wondered if she would walk away again. He wondered briefly if it might even be for the best. Now that he was well on his way to getting drunk, if she kissed him again he might do things he would badly regret in the morning. Maybe things that both of them would regret.
She was too beautiful.
He gazed at her again, wishing for a clearer train of thought.

Eden had been sitting with her chin resting in the palm of her hand a bit sulkishly, but looked up when Elda came back over. And whether by good luck or bad, the second she looked up was the second that she saw Shayna grab Eric by the collar of his shirt and kiss him. Eden's eyes widened, her eyebrows raised a bit, and a dangerously mischevious smile found its way onto her lips. Yeah, let's go. This would be the perfect time to sing, right after that moment. And the other group could just go stick it up their asses. This was their night. Eden stood, and after quickly making sure Elda would follow, crossed over to the stage with her head held high.

Skye's eyes widened when she saw what Shayna just did. It was so hard to believe that she just sat there, wondering what to do. Should she leave them or should she break them apart? She honestly didn't know. The alcohol didn't help much in the thinking process either. Ignoring what her friends have said earlier, she grabbed Maverick since he was the closest and whispered "What should we do?!" in a bit of a frantic tone. On second thought, maybe Maverick wasn't the best person at the moment to ask for advice since he seemed to be a bit drunk. Depending on what either of them decide to do now, she might just have to break things up to save her friend.

Elda followed, pushing through the people. "Hey, what song are we going to sing?" she tried to ask Eden through the crowd. When Elda got to the stage, she saw that there was a free guitar. She grabbed it and started to tune.

Paul shook his head as he saw Skye panicking at what just happened. He should've known that someone would freak. This kind of thing was dangerous after all. Who know what the result was going to be. He was hoping Eric would shoo Shayna away and the nerds get to party in triumph, but Eric didn't seem to be doing anything to stop what was happening. Come on Eric. You remember what she did to you. Make her regret that decision and leave. Let her know she can't just come back to you after that and expect everything to be okay. Have her prove that she really wants you he thought to himself as he went over next to Skye and whispered, "we might just have to pull Eric out of here before he does something he regrets. I was kind of hoping he'd give Shayna the boot, but just look at him. He's not doing a damned thing." He really hoped that it didn't come to that.

Maverick just stared at the scene playing out before him between Shayna and Eric...in his head all he heard was Stop right there...before we go any further do you love me.. and thus Paradise by the Dashboard Light was stuck in his head for the remainder of the evening...He looked between Paul and Skye and said "Even though we're his best friends, it's not our place to intervene. We'll just have to be there for him.." He noticed two of Shayna's friends running up to the stage...this could only cause more mayhem he was sure of that.
