You know what... nevermind. I'm not going to do any research. Not at this time anyway. I'll wait until I'm done with the first draft as I originally planned... and then I can do research then. Especially when I'll know what I should really be doing research about... and not about stuff I already know.

Finally getting somewhere with my story at the part I wanted to move on from. There's some scenes that I'll have to have more research on... but I'm glad I figured out what I wanted the lesson to be for this particular section to be. It bothered me so much that I couldn't figure out what would be a good thing for that particular area. Now that it's figured out, it makes complete sense.

I may have only written about three pages... but at least it's something. Just was a bit too distracted to fully focus. Especially that whole aspect of trying to figure out what her lessons was going to be.
But now that I've past that and brought the portion of her journey to a close, I'll be able to connect the various tidbits together and add the last few scenes that are still needed. Meaning... I may potentially be nearing the end of draft one of my novel Exciting, exciting!

My former university had their student government elections a couple weeks ago. However, there a complaint filed regarding some election rules being broken. As a result the university's judicial board had a whole meeting between the two parties about the situation, and recently made the decision to invalidate the results of the election - on all accounts, not just the "ticket" that had the complaint filed against them. It's all been very interesting to watch and read since I'm familiar with some of the people who were involved.

Although I'm no longer a student there, based on the evidence that was stated within the recorded meeting, I feel the judicial board make the right decision to invalidate the election results. Though I think it should've only been on the president and vice president level, not the others... but whatever.
It's quite amusing watching the accused party trying to worm their way out of the trouble they've gotten into. True, they had their table approved... but probably not the fact that it became a polling station. Whether it was an unusual voting manner or not (or whatever), you broke a very vital rule, girls - the running parties should be no where near the stations where students can vote.

And the fact that the accused party is getting all worked up about the judicial board's decision doesn't help their image at all, in my mind. Even though I can't vote in the elections now since I'm no longer a student and I never would have voted for them in the first place, their hissy fit reactions to the whole ordeal just makes them look bad. If you can't handle the ruling of you breaking some rules that were very clearly stated, then how will anyone trust that you will handle the business of student affairs on campus? How will they know you will follow through with your words? Will you be the representation of the student voice... or are you only wanting the positions for popularity's sake?
Honestly, of the tickets that I knew the people of, the accused party was the pair that I felt was only doing it for popularity reasons. The other two tickets at least seemed like pairs that would take their jobs very seriously and would be adequate representations of the student voice on campus.
