Ashriel was biting her lip again as she watched the doctor look over the big bites. She was pulling off the scab that had developed from the bleeding yesterday with her teeth.

Raevyn sighed and leaned over, placing two fingers against her lip lightly. "Stop that." He said softly. "I told you - Bad habit." The doctor ignored his soft voice, more focused on the bites. Finally he spoke. "Well, it looks bad but I think it will heal on it's own without stitches." He reached behind him without looking, grabbing a small box filled with bandage supplies. Setting a cotton pad against the wounds, he began wrapping it again. "Keep it wrapped for a day or two. Then take the bandage off and see how it's doing. If it's fine, the bandage can be left off or minimal put back on." He explained, deftly tying off the bandage. He moved back and filled a syringe. Moving to Ashriel's arm, he warned her, "This might sting a bit." Then injected her. "In case the dog had rabies. Not common but better safe than sorry. You're free to go now. Try to stay off that leg." He said, putting a bandaid on Ashriel's arm. Raevyn nodded and swept her up again. "C'mon. Let's go face the monster that's waiting for us." And he wasn't even talking about Lucian this time, as they walked back to the waiting room.

Ashriel's eyes lifted to look at Raevyn as he spoke to her. It was just something she did to calm her nerves - which she had a lot of in a hospital. As the doctor finally began to speak, she looked down to watch him wrapping her wound. She nodded lightly. No doubt Raevyn would refuse to let her stand until it was at least half-way healed. Still, she bit her lip yet again when he gave her the shot. As soon as it was over, she stopped, pouting when Raevyn lifted her up. "I don't want to see her." Ashriel's quiet voice was flat. It was apparent that she was very much blaming Jennalin for Lixini's rumor spreading. After all, she probably could have stopped her.

When they reached the waiting room, there stood Lucian and Jennalin, bickering like brothers and sisters do. The quarrel immediately stopped when Jen spotted Ash, both turning to look. Her eyes became wide as she watched Raevyn carrying Ashriel. Ash immediately turned her head away from Jennalin and into Raevyn. "Ash? Are you okay?" She asked, receiving no answer from Ashriel.

While Jennalin was focused on trying to speak to Ashriel, Lucian was much more concerned with what Raevyn could say about the state of Ashriel's leg. "What did he say?" His smooth voice breathed.

Raevyn ignored Jennalin, not concerned about her right now. She was Ash's friend. Let her deal with the overprotective girl. He glanced at Lucian and spoke in a quiet voice. "She got a rabies shot, just in case. The leg should heal on it's own, no stitches. Bandage for a day or two, then it's up to me." He wasn't about to let Ashriel decide, as she would probably try to pass it off as okay even if it wasn't. "I don't think it was too deep or bad. I think I got him off fast enough." He added, his voice even quieter. He didn't want anyone in the waiting room to overhear him.

Lucian nodded, looking at her. Hm. "Did he move at all while he had her?" His voice was soft enough that human ears couldn't hear him. He didn't need any humans - not even the girls - listening in on this conversation.

Ashriel still did not look at Jennalin as she spoke. "Ash, please, what do you want me to do? What did I do? Please, please tell me." Jennalin begged, but she still received no answer. After a moment of standing there, she backed up, a small tear trickling down her face. She looked at Lucian. "I'll be in the car." He handed her the keys and she rushed out to the parking lot.

Raevyn shook his head. He barely spared Jennalin a glance, too focused on Lucian. "No. I jumped on him and two hundred odd pounds of jaguar is enough to convince most creatures to let go." He said with a small smirk. Like Lucian, he kept his voice too low for anyone but the other cat to hear.

Lucian smirked gently as he heard the other male's feat. That would have been interesting to see. "Good. Because otherwise, I would have said that you should check for breakage. The minute that mutt would have dragged Ash would be the minute her leg broke." He could tell just by where the bites were that it would have happened. "Well then, shall we head to the car?" His voice was now at a fully audible level, making it seem as if they'd just been standing and thinking until this point.

Raevyn chuckled softly. "I was already on my way back to her when that mutt bit. He didn't have a chance. I'm fast." Any cat worth it's salt was fast. A slow cat was a dead cat more often than not. Returning his voice to normal level, he responded, "Let's go. No need to stay here when we don't need to." He followed Lucian out to the car, settling Ashriel in the backseat again, sitting beside her. He didn't care if Jennalin had been there before, she could sit in front.

Jennalin had been sitting in the front seat. Her face was solemn as she watched the trio approach, her brother getting into the front seat. Even after Ashriel was seated, she paid no attention to her friend at all. Almost all of it was on Raevyn, with a small bit on Lucian. Lucian double checked that Jen and Ash were buckled in before pulling out, driving down the road towards the apartment building.

Raevyn was quiet for the trip, staring absently out the window as he thought. He was still listening to everything but wasn't paying it much attention. When they arrived back at the building, he climbed out and pulled Ashriel out. "Guess who's not going anywhere for a day or two?" He asked her with a playful smirk as he climbed up to their apartment.

Lucian allowed Ashriel and Raevyn to get out before he drove off, planning to take Jennalin home. Ashriel groaned as she heard Raevyn's words. "But I can't miss any more school." She contested. Perhaps she could use one of those boards in her closet to help her walk?

Raevyn grimaced. She was right, stupidly enough. They'd missed a lot recently, even by his standards - Which weren't very high when it came to school. He sighed as he unlocked the door, entering and closing it behind him. He thought for a moment. "I'll find a pair of crutches or something." He said at last, setting Ashriel down on the couch.

Ashriel smiled softly at his consensus. At least they wouldn't have to quarrel about it. She looked up at him, scooting herself over to the side of the couch so that he could sit down next to her. Right now, she just wanted to be near him. Why? Well, she didn't know that part.

Raevyn sighed, sitting on the couch beside her. He put an arm around her shoulder, holding her close as she seemed to want right now. "I'm sorry." He whispered suddenly. "I'll be more careful next time." It was clear he was doing the same thing Ashriel normally did - Putting the blame on himself for the situation they were in.

Ashriel looked at Raevyn and shook her head. It wasn't his fault. "It isn't your fault. You know what, it is no one's fault. It happened. Fate wanted it to be, so it was. So let's just move on..." Last time she'd said anything of the sort was before she'd gotten kicked out of her hope - this little experience was helping her recover more than he knew.
