Lucian, upon hearing the door, looked up from the book he'd been reading. He set it down carefully, going to the door and opening it. Why was Raevyn here? "Hello?" His eyes looked over the other cat for a moment as he leaned now against his own doorway.

 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn rubbed the back of his neck as Lucian opened the door. He'd kinda been hoping the other cat wasn't home but it was better to get this over with sooner rather than later. "I just.....Wanted to say thank you. For today." He looked embarrassed to have to say. He continued though. "I know you and I don't really like each other but truce? For Ashriel's sake?" He held out his hand to Lucian. He didn't really like the idea of it, didn't like the idea of dealing with the other cat. But Ashriel wanted them to get along, so he would at least try to be civil.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian nodded as he listened to Raevyn. When the other cat held out his hand, he took it, speaking. "Truce. For Ash." He said quietly, looking at Raevyn. "By the way, if you could talk to Ash about Jennalin, I would appreciate it. She's at her apartment, freaking out because Ash refuses to speak to her."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn was relieved when his gamble paid off and Lucian agreed to the truce. They both cared enough about the girl and didn't want to upset her. Hearing the question though, he nodded. "I will. When she wakes up though. She was sleeping when I left. I woke her a bit early this morning so she didn't get much sleep. I wanted that bite looked at though." He paused for a second, looking almost awkward. "I guess I'll see you later then." He hurried back into his own apartment before the weirdness of being nice to another male cat got to him. It just felt.....odd. To not be hissing and fighting. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian waved goodbye to Raevyn, and he shut his door. He picked his novel back up and sat down, sighing. It was for Ash...and her safety.
Ashriel herself was squirming on the couch in her sleep. Already she was laying fully on the couch, instead of leaning back and sitting up in her sleep. It appeared that she'd moved substantially; her sleeping conscious paying no attention to her leg.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn frowned as he saw how much she'd moved. That wasn't good. But it was odd. She rarely moved while they slept at night. Why all squirmy now? He crouched down beside her, watching her for a moment before reaching out to stroke her hair lightly. "Shh. You're safe." He murmured softly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel seemed to instantly calm for one reason or another.
[--And here's where you get the very rare foresight into my character's head--]
Ash's eyes moved rapidly back and forth. This wasn't happening! What was she supposed to do? She backed against a wall, screaming her lungs out. Where could she go if she got away? Her parents had just kicked her out! Wait - why was she asking that? HOW was she going to get away?
Her leg swung out and kicked a man in the groin, the two others moving to jump her. She avoided their drunken swagger roughly, her footsteps carrying sounds far. Safety...she had to find safety...
One managed to grab her, and she screamed. Not in real life, but in her head. It was in her head, right? He attempted to pull off her clothing, and she kicked at him...
Someone else appeared, and she relaxed. Raevyn? But he hadn't been there!
Ashriel's eyes fluttered open to see Raevyn, sweat dripping down her forehead.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn's frown deepened as he saw her sweating. He watched her in concern as she woke up. He'd been about to wake her himself, worried. "Are you alright?" He asked softly, watching carefully. "Nightmare?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at Raevyn quietly, thinking for a moment. "Of course I'm fine..." She muttered, her mind yelling tell him. "Yeah...just a nightmare." That really happened, she added in her head. At least...at least that guy had passed out before anything could happen.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "You don't look fine." Raevyn told her bluntly. "You look scared. Actually, you smell scared." He could smell the fear the nightmare had woken in her. He moved to sit on the couch beside Ashriel, drawing her close to him. "Wanna talk about it?" He offered, his voice calm. He wasn't going to press it if she didn't want to talk. It was her decision to share or not. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at Raevyn as he spoke, taking in his words and voice. Her stomach was still clenched, so she supposed she could tell him. "Well you might as well know," because it was in my past, her brain added. "The dream focused on the night my parents left me. I was cornered by three very...lusty drunks. I'd just managed to escape when one trapped me. And that was when I woke up. and when he fell asleep in real life. --she'd love to WALK about it. I think she'd feel good. lol. just thought that I'd say how much that typo made me laugh.--

Raevyn listened silently, his body growing tense as she spoke. A low growl rumbled in his throat without his noticing. "Bastards!" He hissed, appalled at the idea that they would treat Ashriel like that. As soon as he found out who those men were, they were joining the wolf pack on his 'to-neuter' list. --It's fine. By the way, I'm extremely tired, so I'm getting off now. night-- Ashriel bit her lip, looking up at Raevyn. How had he figured out that it was a memory taunting her, and not just her mind creating a dream about that night? "Calm down...please?" She asked him softly, feeling good to have him so close currently.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn glanced at her, anger smoldering in his amber eyes. His expression softened though, as he watched her. He held her close, burying his face in the crook of her neck. "Sorry." It was hard to tell if he was apologizing for his temper or for the men. He breathed deeply, letting her familiar scent sooth him. His body relaxed as he held her, taking comfort in her presence.

Ashriel smiled as Raevyn came closer, glad for him to be so near. As her ears picked up his apology, she spoke quietly in return. "It's fine." Her eyes shut as she felt him holding her; her own body relaxed by his touch. "Thank you." Those words might have even been inaudible to him, at the level which she said them. She didn't care whether or not he heard: she just cared that she said them.
