Martin Zellar was the lead singer, main songwriter, and guitarist for the U.S. country-tinged rock band the Gear Daddies. After the band broke up in 1992, Zellar went on to form Martin Zellar and The Hardways (which currently includes Nick Ciola). After a short stint in Texas, he moved his family back to his home town of Austin, Minnesota. In addition to continuing to gig and recording new songs, he is now head of the Mower County DFL. He helped Democrat Jeanne Poppe wage a difficult campaign against a Republican incumbent Jeff Anderson. Poppe won and now represents Austin in the state legislature. On February 10, 2005 Zellar said he was hoped that the Gear Daddies will regroup for a concert in the near future.

The longest-running American sitcom and animated program, with 17 seasons and 370 episodes since it debuted on December 17, 1989 on FOX (The world's longest running animated series is actually the Japanese series Sazae-san which has been on air since 1969). The TV series is a spin-off of a series of animated shorts originally aired on The Tracey Ullman Show. The show has now been renewed for a twentieth season, which will take place in 2008 and 2009. After its last season, it will be the second-longest-running primetime entertainment series, with Gunsmoke being in first, by a matter of a few months. in May 2007, it will celebrate its 400th episode[2]. A feature-length movie is now being produced simultaneously with the television series. It is produced by Gracie Films for 20th Century Fox.

Gradius is a horizontally-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game developed by Konami in 1985. It is the first game in the long-running and popular Gradius series. Gradius has the distinction of popularizing a weapon selection bar, based upon collecting power-ups to 'purchase' additional weapons. The game was ported to many systems, most notably the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Japanese MSX computer. Gradius is considered a highly influential game and has set the foundation for many other horizontal shooters for years to come.

Vic Viper is the name of the protagonist space ship in the Gradius series of games by Konami. The craft has been at the player's control in almost ten different titles. The ship has been renowned for both its remarkable adaptability and ludicrous durability (seeing as how any attack, as well as colliding with objects, is enough to destroy the Vic Viper in one hit).
