Zil moved along even as he looked back towards Minnie even as he was being dragged away. When they had reached a distance, he began to say, "Hey... Where are we going? Not back home, I hope." He was truly honest. Even with all that happened, he didn't want to go home at all and find those violent people and cowards ready to eat him up at any time.

Adriane shook her head. "Nope, it will be almost dark soon, and we need to get you warmed up..." she said. She held onto his hand. "You still feel like you've broken out of an ice burg..." She held up the lamp to his face to see if his ears were frostbitten. She sighed, and shook her head again, thankfully this time. "You really scared me, Zil..." she said after a while.

"I am?" Zil asked in a groggy voice as he felt his hand on his face and realized he really was cold. "Where are we going then?" He asked Adriane with a curious expression. If they weren't going home since it was 'far', then they probably wouldn't be going to the next village either since that would be 'farther'. Then, where would they be heading? The question ran through Zil's mind a couple of times as he waited for Adriane's response.

Adriane smiled. "To a friend of mine's...just for the night...then...Hell, I don't know, Zil. Everyone thinks we're dead anyway...Let's make the most out of it..." She stuffed her cold hands into the pockets of her jacket. "Lets get out of here..." She looked up at smiled at Zil. "Lets go have an adventure..."

Zil began to smile as well and offered his arm to Adriane as he said, "That's what I like to hear." He wasn't sure which 'friend' she was referring to though but he did not worry since it was Adriane's friend. He was sure he or she could be trusted. After all, Adriane was a smart girl. She knew what was best for her.

Adriane smiled and took his arm. After an hour, they made it back to the castle. She walked up and knocked on the door. "Mr. Lucien, we're back!" she called, hoping that he had made it back okay. She had to stand on her tiptoes to reach the knocker.

It took some time for Lucien to slink back down from his tower and don his cloak before the door opened a crack, revealing one of his piercing yellow eyes. "Adriane?" he then saw the boy that was with her. "What are you doing here? You found your friend; you should've gone home." he growled.
((Love to stick around, but I've got a physical anthropology final in an hour. Wish me luck!))

Adriane was taken aback. "Its late...I thought that maybe we could stay the night..." she said smally, looking down. "But I see that I've outstayed my welcome. I'm sorry.." She turned to Zil, "Come on. Seems like I was wrong for once..." She set the lantern down on the porch step.

As Adriane dragged on, Zil was almost in a haze, just moving forward, one step at a time. He hadn't seemed to be thinking when in the cold mist, he began to see the outline of the castle. He gasped softly to himself but said nothing and kept moving forward. Therefore, what Luminette said was true. The castle was real and what's this? Adriane knew the beast? It took him some time just staring at the large knocker as Adriane talked to the beast. He wanted to look towards the creature but he was too taken aback at the moment to actually dare it. As Adriane began to turn them around, Zil began to say in a hushed voice, "Is that-?" but he couldn't bring himself to say anything further.

Lucien gave a gruff sigh and stepped aside to open the door some more. "Forgive me, I didn't mean it like that...Two rooms then?" he said, silently ushering them in from the cold.

Adriane nodded. "And its only for one night, we won't bother you again," she said. She lead Zil into the castle, wondering about the strange look on his face. They got to the parlor and Adriane started to work up the coals that had been left from the night before. She stayed quiet for a while, then asked Zil, "Are you doing ok?" She looked at him. "You're usually not this quiet...ever...."

Zil was admiring the large and intricate designs of the parlor and couldn't help but stare upward at the high ceiling. These designs couldn't probably be from their age. The wood carvings on the corners and along the wall were so beautiful and well-made that a simple carpenter couldn't help but just stare up at it. When Adriane spoke to him, he just shook his head and said, "I think". The castle was real. Wooow....

Adriane looked at him and smiled. "I can smell the smoke," she said. She stood up and walked over to him. "So..." she said. "You remember that legend..." She rocked on her feet, going up and down on her toes.

"Yes. I understand. This is that place then. And that is that person. Then Minnie is..." Zil began mumbling, sounding as though he was rambling about something. He stopped for a few seconds and shook his head as though he couldn't take in the idea. This was bigger than anything he was about to do. This was a grand tale... A legend. "It's not possible" He muttered.

"Zilaius," said Adriane. She looked down at her feet. "Isn't the fact that you're in the castle proof enough?" she asked. She was afraid that he would say that. She put her hands behind her back, thinking about his ramblings. "Wait...that means that Minnie...." She looked at him and smiled. "Oh, Zil...I think I've figured out a way to help her..."
