Yesterday I started sewing my Sailor Venus costume. So far I've just done the leotard portions. Still have to put in the elastic for the leg holes, sew the skirt together, and then sew the body part together. Then I can start working on the accessory decorations which should go a bit faster, hopefully.
It's really cool seeing it starting to come together.

Since I forgot to do the alterations to the front of the leotard ((to have the V-neck rather than the rounded neck from the pattern's original look)), I'll have to do some brainstorming on how the collar is going to look. So I'll be doing that today... and then potentially continue sewing tonight, if Mom is up to assisting me.

Aside from that little error, everything else has been going smoothly for me. Mom's new sewing machine has been quite easy to work with... and I've been able to do the more complicated aspects of the skating dress pattern. Even successfully did the snap-buttons-on-the-bottom alteration with no problems.
I can't wait to see the whole costume come together and be completed.

Poor Castiel! I felt so bad for him as Naomi kept pressuring him to do stuff and he continued to question it. So glad that he finally was able to break free from Naomi's connection... but I still worry about what's going on with Cas.

Sorry about the long delay between posts. I decided to watch an episode of Supernatural while I was eating lunch. So, that's why it took so long for me to get back to post again.

 Haha... that would be hilarious! But I bet people would be frustrated because they would try buying all of the different versions to have the complete collection, lol.
I liked someone's comment they made in response to this image:"I would love to see a book written in a similar way - the story itself is all the same, but written from the different character's points of view. So, "one book" (at least by title), with the same story being told, but by the points of view of the various main characters. The arguments would be wild."

So I did quite a bit of stuff today. Not only did a create a template to use for the sailor collar... but I also created one for the super shoulder protector and the back bow tail. I'll have to do the templates for the rest of the bow stuff later since I'll have to ask Mom about how much seam allowance I should add to the dimensions I have ((since the tutorial didn't include them)).

After doing all that, it makes me realize how much I have left to do and how close I am to completing the outfit. Aside from cutting out the remaining pieces and finish sewing stuff together, I just have the accessories (i.e. tiara) to make. Then I'll be done.
About 3 weeks until the convention! Woot!

My mind has already been reeling with ideas of future costume designs. *laughs* I don't even know where I would wear some of the ideas I've come up with... but it's really exciting to fantasize about future projects.
I really have to thank JoEllen Elam of Firefly Path for inspiring me to dive into the creative art. She's my role model and muse for that area of creativity.
