Ashriel looked at him quietly. She went back to working on her drawing; her fingers brought out her colored pencils as the bell rang. A dark purple glow-type shading echoed around the wolf, and she shivered.

 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "I'll tell you now, the wolves don't glow." Raevyn told her softly as he stood up, gathering his stuff. He moved towards the door then paused, waiting for Ashriel so he could walk ahead of her again.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel moved her stuff so that she could go to the next class. She stood up and followed after Raevyn. "They...they don't?" Her voice was that of honest surprise as she reached Raevyn.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn waited until they were seated at their next class before answering. "No. None of the were's glow. I don't know anything that does glow, besides freaky, glow-in-the-dark, weird as all hell, cave critters/jellyfish/whatever-the-hell-else." He wasn't sure where Ashriel had gotten the idea of the glow. She seemed honestly surprised when he said no to it. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at Raevyn, honestly curious as she sat there. "But...everyone does...you do...Jen does..." She looked at him, her eyebrows furrowed. No glow? How could that be possible? She thought that was only when there wasn't a pulse!

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn frowned curiously, raising one eyebrow. "I have no idea what in the world you are talking about." He said slowly. "No one glows. Not me, not you, not Jen, and not the wolves." He leaned back in his chair, thinking. Why would Ashriel be seeing glows? Was it auras? He'd heard rumors of some people seeing auras, but those were only for the gifted people. the magically inclined ones. And he'd never seen any hints of that in Ashriel. "Did anyone in your family ever see these 'glows'? Or have any kind of 'magic'? Tarot reading, palm reading, telekinesis, telepathy, visions, or anything like that?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel thought for a moment when Raevyn spoke. "Well, my mother committed my grandma to an Asylum because my grandma claimed to hear everyone else's voices in their heads- and she answered unspoken questions." She shrugged. "Mom said everyone in her family was crazy - so I never saw them."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn groaned, putting his head down on the desk. "Lovely. Just lovely." He sighed, then turn his head so he could see Ashriel. "Welcome to the magic club, you may take your seat beside Jen." He told her dryly, rolling his eyes. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel continued to look at Raevyn, still completely confused. She was already sitting, wasn't she? "What are you talking about?" Her voice hinted to her confusion. She looked away and down to her drawing. A small, dark blue hue was off in the distance behind the wolf, and the rest was colored almost completely black.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed and sat up straighter, putting his elbow on the desk and head head in his hand. "I am talking about your powers." He told her quietly, then reached over to tap her drawing. "I think your an aura reader. Powers like this tend to run through the maternal line and you said your mother's family was 'crazy'. Often those with powers or abilities beyond normal humans are labeled crazy." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at him quietly. She didn't know if she could believe him, but...she'd heard crazier things lately. "But...what about my mother...she's normal. At least, I thought she was." She shivered as she remembered her mother quietly.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Hides it." Raevyn said simply, without hesitation. "Hides or suppresses it. I doubt such a strong history of it would skip her, so chances are she has it too. What she has might be different though. Magic manifests itself differently for everyone." He shrugged easily. "Here's a question though - Do the glows - auras I think they are - ever change? Or are they one solid color that's always the same for the same person?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel nodded quietly. "Well...most have a solid color that only changes slightly in hue. But there is one that jumps between lots of colors..." And that one was right next to her. Not that she would mention that.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Only one that jumps?" Raevyn asked, frowning thoughtfully. "Who's aura jumps like that?" He probed Ashriel, trying to sort out exactly what she was seeing. Was she seeing emotions, personalities, powers, or something else entirely? The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel bit her lip at his question and answered him very, very quietly. "Yours." She didn't know why, but his had started doing that lately. Ah, she didn't think it mattered. Well, before it was just a glow. Didn't mean anything to her.
