Ummmm... xD I don't know if you know this, I'm pretty sure not.
The SAT is taken throughout the US. cx You have to take it and pass to get into a college in the US. You are required to take the PSAT and SAT Junior and sophmore(?) year? o.o I think they changed it, but I'm not sure. Whatever years you have to take it is the current nationwide.
