Ashriel sighed as they continued up the stairs. She knew that she would utterly fail at going up-or down-stairs in those crutches, so she didn't even protest being carried for such a long time. Lucian and Jennalin met them right outside the apartments-purely by dumb luck. "They threatened Jen...it seems that they've remembered her adoption." Lucian breathed at a level neither girl could hear. He ushered his sister into his apartment, looking slightly worried.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn, about to open the door to his own apartment, stopped. His eyes went wide in shock. "What in the world happened?" He asked, keeping his voice low as well. Worry flickered through his amber eyes as he moved to follow Lucian, intending to get the whole story. While he didn't care for Jennalin nearly as much as he did for Ashriel, he was still kind of fond of the girl. His friends were few and far between. And he knew Ashriel loved the other girl, despite their recent spat. He didn't want anything to hurt Ashriel, directly or indirectly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian allowed Raevyn into his apartment, closing the door behind them. Ashriel looked about confused - why had they gone into Lucian's apartment? Jennalin was moving about the room quietly, getting herself situated. If one were to actually look at her closely, she had a claw mark going all the way down one arm - a relatively new one, too.
"I received a phone call from someone who somehow managed to block their phone number. They only said that they hadn't forgotten about her. I go to pick her up this afternoon, and she has the mark that traces up her arm. A bear." Lucian looked at his sister quietly, as if something could pounce out any minute. His eyes flicker between his sister and Ashriel. "She's going to stay with me until this whole thing dies down."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn frowned, moving to set Ashriel on the couch. Then he moved away to talk better without risking the girls overhearing. "Bear? Are you sure?" He asked, though he knew bear marks were distinctive. Most of the were marks were easy to tell apart, with only the various cats being hard to tell. "Surely not Mama and her crew?" Every were in the city knew of Sanctuary and it's rules. It was famous as, well, a sanctuary for those in need. Their motto was don't bite me, I won't bite you. "Is there a new bear in town?" Lucian shook his head. "I think it is someone new. These marks are too small to have been her. Besides, the roughness...I think it was a male. Especially by how Jennalin was avoiding every single boy around while she was waiting for me. I don't know who they are...but I think it might be a group from the town over." His eyes looked over at the girls. Jennalin had taken a seat next to Ashriel. Over on the couch, they were discussing the 'glows' that Ashriel had found out about that afternoon.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn gave a sigh of relief. He hated to suspect Mama. She may not have liked him, but she put up with him, for which he was grateful. He growled lightly. "Great. We have enough were's in this town as it is, including that damn wolf pack. They've got a good eleven or twelve right there, depending on how many I killed. Now we have more?" He sighed, glancing at the girls. "We're going to have to keep a close eye on them. I don't want anything else happening to them." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian nodded. "I say at least one of us is with them at all times...other than in the restroom, of course." His eyebrows rose when Jennalin appeared to be getting excited over something. He'd only heard one word or two of the conversation. "Glows?" He questioned Raevyn. Apparently it seemed that they would be needing more of an agreement than the one before. Somehow, they would have to be able to watch both at all times - which likely meant working together.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed but nodded. As much as he hated the idea of working with Lucian - and he really didn't like it at all, leaving the other cat with his Ashriel - he could see it was necessary. "Alright. We'll have to work out a schedule." He shrugged at the sudden change in topic. "She can see 'glows' she calls it. I think she's seeing auras. According to her, 'craziness' runs strongly in her mother's family. And you know what that means." He said, raising an eyebrow. "Power likely runs strongly in her family, not craziness." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian's eyes grew wide. "That explains why Jennalin is so excited." He spoke before he even though about it. When he remembered Ash's family, he remembered what Jennalin had told him the other day when he'd asked why Ash was living alone with Raevyn. "But if it was a family trait, as it usually is, and it seems to be, why did her own mother call her crazy and kick her out for having it?" He sighed, pacing. "It probably is auras." He sighed lightly. The girls had changed subjects now, and Ash's sketch of the wolf as she saw it was now across their laps.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Cause her mother's a b***h." Raevyn said flatly, crossing his arms and watching Lucian pace. He'd never even met the woman and he already hated her. "I have a suspicion that whatever her mother's power is, the woman suppressed it and tried to pretend she was normal. Maybe even suppressed it so long that she actually forgot about it." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian nodded now. "Probably." He agreed, and he stopped pacing. His cell phone was vibrating, and so he answered. "Sorry mother, I've been busy. Wait- you got a call too? All the way... I've got it handled, she's staying with me. Where? Oh, shoot, I'm loosing signal. Bye." It was apparent that his mother had actually just asked him where he's living. He hung up and Jennalin was glaring at him.
"Err...Raevyn? I want to go back to the apartment-I'm tired."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn was at Ashriel's side the moment she spoke. "Alright. Let's get you some supper, then bed." He murmured, picking her up. He headed out of the apartment, whispering in a low voice to Lucian as he passed the other cat. "We'll work out a schedule later." Right now though, He wanted to get Ashriel back to her own bed. He left the apartment and ducked into theirs, carrying Ashriel to the bedroom and setting her down there. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel wasn't surprised this time when he lifted her- she'd been expecting it. Lucian nodded as Raevyn passed, locking the door once Ashriel and Raevyn were out. He didn't want anyone breaking in.
Once she was down on her own bed, Ash looked up at Raevyn. "I wish I could've defended myself from that wolf...you know, Jen defended herself in her fight - she scared them away somehow. She wouldn't tell me how, though..." She told Raevyn. Her fingers went down her braid softly, and she looked around her room. A small grumble could be heard coming from her stomach, and she looked to Raevyn again.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn shrugged. "I have no idea how she scared them off." He answered honestly. "If you want, I'll show you some tricks that might help. After supper though." He clarified, hearing her stomach growl. "Anything in particular you want?" He had to wonder how Jennalin had made the bear back off. Course, she'd been raised around were's so she probably knew a lot of the tips and tricks. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel grinned now, looking at him in answer. "Food." She responded, excited that Raevyn would try and tell her things that may help. That way, if they got separated for one reason or another, she could defend herself. --sorry about last night. my laptop died and I took it as a sign to go to bed.--
