Amaya gave Adrian a worried look, though she didn't say anything. "You could go out to the park, you could go draw, you could do anything beside rot your brain in front of the tv." Amaya told Riley with a dry look.

"Don't feel like it." Riley said simply. "And going out would mean effort and getting dressed." he said, still lounging in his pjs.

"Effort is good for you kiddo. So guess what? You can go do something else besides watch tv, or you can sit at the kitchen table and do your homework until it's all completely finished." Amaya told him, her hands on her hips. As much as she knew she sounded like her father, she hadn't gone through hell and back so her kids could just sit and watch tv all day.

"But mooooom, it's saturday!" Riley whined as he crawled over to look up over the armrest at her. "This is like, the anti-school day of the week! No one does homework on a saturday!"

"I didn't even have Saturdays off when I was your age. I had to go to school. And guess what happened after school? I went to cram school for an extra three hours." Amaya told him, unimpressed with his whining.

"Yeah, and that was way long ago in another country. My homework's super easy anyway, I'll do it tomorrow before I go to bed!" Riley said.

"It wasn't way long ago." Amaya muttered as she rolled her eyes. "I don't care, do something besides watch tv." She told him, getting annoyed that she had to argue this with him still. "You've seen this episode hundreds of times. If I can repeat it word for word, I know you can, so you don't need to be watching this."

"Come on, why don't you get dressed and we'll get out of here for a bit." Adrian said nabbing the unguarded remote and turning the tv off before Riley could protest. "We can get some lunch, maybe go to the arcade...maybe even stop by the comic book store on the way back." he suggested with a smile.
"Okaaaaayyy..." Riley grumbled as he climbed over the armrest and off the couch to head for his room. If those were his options and tv was getting cut off from him for the day, then yeah, he'd go with the not homework option.

"Comic book store for him or you?" Amaya asked with a teasing smirk as she looked to Adrian, heading back to their room to go get dressed.

"Contrary to what you may think, I was never into comics. Closest I got was cartoon adaptations." Adrian said as he followed her to their room.

"Psh, you're no fun." Amaya sighed as she pulled her clothes on and brushed her hair out better. "Did Cali say how long she was going to be out or where she was going?" She asked, a little concerned to hear that she heard voices.

"Nope." Adrian sighed as he pulled his shirt on. "She just left. If you're worried, you can always call her cell you know."

Shaking her head, Amaya just sighed again. "I was just curious. If it gets late I'll call her." She murmured, not wanting to bother the teen if she just left.

"I hope Riley doesn't turn into such a handful when he grows up..." Adrian mused with a sigh.

"Well, girls are usually more drama. So hopefully once Cali's out, things will calm down a bit." She told Adrian with a small smile, trying to comfort him a bit.
