If your made of fire fire can heal you.
If a fire elemental meets the fire attack and absorb it by means of mouth, absorption through skin, etc than it will aid you or just not effect you. If it's an attack you unaware of then you can't do that.

Darkness on the other hand is to broad. What shadow magic?
