Jennalin just barely heard Raevyn's words. "You are succeeding." She said, although it would be unclear to Ashriel whether she was speaking about Ash's drawing, or about something random to Raevyn. Ash was still silently puzzling over the mystery glow. Wait - it was the same color as the bear's glow had been.
Ashriel looked up, and she stared at Raevyn. "That bear had watched the first night! I saw it; well, I saw its glow." She told him, holding up her drawing and pointing to the mysterious color - the bear's glow.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn shrugged lightly and kept quiet, working. He glanced up at Ashriel's words though and frowned. "Watching?" He glanced over the picture. "What in the world......If he was there, why didn't he help? Two on one, they were almost guaranteed to win." He seemed to be mostly thinking aloud. "A wolf and cat fight is iffy and can go either way. The bear could have tipped the scales. What did they gain by backing off like that? What is going on here?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

"I probably only saw him for a split second - I only saw his glow. So maybe he was fetching help." Ashriel told Raevyn, bring the picture back down. That was the only answer that she could come up with, but it was evident that Jennalin had another answer.
Jennalin bit her lip before speaking. "My brother's been trying to elude a gang of weres for a while now...ever since mother and father moved away. Perhaps it is that same gang. They've probably spotted me and Ash together, and they could see this as a vantage point to get both you and Luke." She said, her voice quieter than normal. There wasn't any evidence that she was going to give up a reason why Lucian had been targeted, but she seemed certain of the idea. "The bear was probably overseeing your wolf - trying to make sure he only stirred you, or injured Ash. Trying to get you, and my brother, wary. Because those who are wary are easier to catch off guard."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn frowned, staring into the soup pot as he stirred it. "What did Lucian do to piss off this gang?" He asked quietly. "I need to know if I'm to plan. You lived with weres so your should know that different crimes require different punishments. If I know what Lucian did, I can guess at what the group will do." He didn't say he already knew what the punishment for Ashriel and himself should have been - Death. Death for knowing too much and death for giving out information. But whatever Lucian's crime was, they were using Ashriel and Jen to get to the were, something that wasn't making Raevyn any happier. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin looked at Raevyn quietly. "That's the thing- he won't tell me." There was no need for her to add that he almost never kept anything from her. "He's just been moving a lot...and switching jobs whenever he could." She took a deep breath, looking at Ash. Yeah, Lucian had told her years ago the punishment for what they were going through was - when she was last in the situation. She figured she'd better not say anything. Knowing Ashriel, she'd run out in the middle of everything to give everyone else a chance to get away. Sometimes, her friend could be really stupid.
Ashriel looked at Raevyn as well, not speaking. Some part of her wanted to know what the punishment for what was going on. But another insisted that she did not ask.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn's frown deepened. He didn't like the sound of that. Whatever Lucian had done, it was either big or he just pissed off the wrong person. He didn't say anything as he worked, finishing the soup. It was only once he'd dished it out and was setting the bowls on the table that he spoke again. "We'll just have to be very careful from now on." He said quietly. "Until this gets sorted out, you two aren't to be left alone. Lucian and/or myself will always be with you." He told them, sitting down and starting to eat his soup. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin looked at Raevyn, taking her bowl quietly. She'd known for a long time that whatever Lucian had done was serious; Raevyn's decision came to no surprise to her.
Ashriel looked at Raevyn for a moment, thinking quietly. She started eating once it was in front of her, not speaking. Already she had figured Raevyn had decided something of that sort - he hadn't left her alone before.
Jennalin's eyes dipped to look at her phone, which she was pulling out of her pocket. A text from Lucian. "Luke is going to have to work late tonight because of what happened earlier. He won't be home until one or two. He says I need to stay over here." She read aloud, showing the text to Raevyn after she'd finished reading it.
Ashriel's face brightened almost immediately. A sleepover! Yay! It sounded really fun to her - it had been sooo long since she last had one.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn glanced at Jennalin and nodded. His eyes skimmed the text quickly, confirming what she'd already said. "Sounds good. It makes the most sense." He said quietly. Even if Lucian hadn't told Jen to stay over, if Raevyn had known the other cat was working late, he would made Jen stay over. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin ate a couple more bites before speaking again. "Would you mind going over there with me to get my overnight things?" She questioned Raevyn, hoping that he would say yes.
Ashriel stopped eating about halfway through her bowl of soup. "I'm full." She was only feeling ill, really. Not stressed. This wasn't stress, right?

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn dithered for a moment. He didn't want to really leave either girl alone. Then again.....If he locked the apartment and they were fast, nothing should happen right? He glanced at Jennalin. "We'd have to be fast. Very fast." He told her, then turned to look at Ashriel. He frowned, seeing her half-full bowl. "Try to keep eating please. Just try. I don't like to see how little you've been eating lately." He tried to coax her into eating more. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin nodded at Raevyn. "You know, you could bring Ashriel over with you." She glanced at Ashriel's bowl, a frown overcoming her face. "You really should eat."
Ashriel look between Jennalin and Raevyn, shaking her head. "I really am full, I swear!" She said. Okay, maybe it was just that she felt like she was going to vomit. Maybe that was the only reason she wasn't eating. But she wasn't about to tell either of them, no matter how pale she was slowly getting.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "I wasn't sure about moving her around so much." 'And having my hands tied up like that.' Raevyn added silently, but kept the last part to himself. Watching Ashriel, his frown deepened though. "Are you sure you're alright?" He asked, moving to her side. She was turning paler than he liked to see. Gently, he put the back of his hand against her forehead. He was normally a little bit warmer than her, a result of being a were, so she usually felt cool to him. If she felt the same or warmer than him, then he knew there was a problem. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Raevyn's hand felt cool against Ashriel's skin. She frowned - that couldn't be good. Usually that felt warm against her cold skin. "Yeah, I'm fine." Liar, her mind yelled out. There was no way that she was fine right now. Something was probably just going around.
Jennalin nodded. "Then it probably would be okay if I just ran in and grabbed my bag with you, as long as we only leave Ash for a couple of minutes."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn shook his head, dropping his hand and leaning against the table. "I'm staying with Ashriel." He told Jennalin. He didn't like how warm Ashriel felt. It wasn't a good thing. "She's got a fever." He sighed and glanced at Jen. "Remember what we did before? We'll do that again. If you need help, I'll come. But I don't want to leave Ash right now." There was an odd tone in his voice, as if he was pleading with Jen to understand what he was doing. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin nodded. She shut her eyes for a moment to allow Raevyn to create the link more easily. It was a strain on her to try anything with less than two weres around - she could probably only read Ash occasionally because of her slight amount of power.
Ashriel pouted. "I'm sure it's nothing." She answered simply to Raevyn's comment, although it was obvious that she knew that she was lying.
