 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn too, closed his eyes for a moment, so he could focus better. He sought out Jennalin's mind, forging the link quickly. He opened his eyes, blinking to get used to the double vision. "We're good. Get going and hurry." He stressed the need to be fast. That done, he turned his attention back to Ashriel. "Let's get you to bed." He murmured, picking her up.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin nodded, hurrying over to her brother's apartment. Lucian had given her key just for times like this. She opened the door, and she grabbed her pre-packed overnight bag. Hurrying back, she locked Luke's door behind her so as to not have him come home to a surprise guest. She walked back into Ash's apartment, locking the door after she entered.
Ashriel pouted as he lifted her up. "I'm fine, I swear! I'll eat more...I'm just fine." Okay, she didn't want to go to bed so early, apparently. Well, there wasn't anything to do in that apartment anyway.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn rested Ashriel on the table with a sigh, moving so they were face to face. "Stop that. I hate those words, 'I'm fine'. I hate it." He told her quietly, a small part of his mind keeping tabs on Jennalin. "If your temperature is higher than mine, you're not fine. If your leg is broken, you're not fine. If you are bleeding, you are not fine!" He ranted, growing irritated. "I hate it! I hate seeing you in pain and I hate you trying to ignore it like that!" He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath to calm down. He glanced up at Jennalin as she re-entered the apartment building. Seeing her safe, he closed off the link to her, returning to his own mind. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at Raevyn as he spoke. Slowly, tears began to form. "I'm sorry." She said once, her stomach curling in on itself. "I'm sorry. I don't want you to worry about me. I don't want you to get upset over something that is happening to me. That...wouldn't be fair to you." Tears began to roll down her face gradually. "I'm sorry that I hide my pain. I hate pain, so I pretend it isn't there. If I pretend it isn't there, sometimes it just goes away. Everything gets better. No one gets mad..."
As Jennalin saw and heard what was going on, she hurried into the bathroom, not wanting to get in the middle of it.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn silently thanked Jen for leaving them be. He turned back to Ashriel with a sigh, his voice soft. "Look. I worry about you regardless. I worry even more when I can't tell if your in pain. If your hurting, I want to know so I can help. But if you never tell me, then I can't trust you when you say 'I'm fine' because I don't know if it's true or if it's just a cover up." He tried to stay patient and explain. He wiped the tears from her cheeks though more slid down. He sighed, putting his face in one hand. "Gods, I can't do this. Every other word out of my mouth makes you cry. I feel like such an a*****e, doing this." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel reached for Raevyn, pulling him toward her in a hug. "You could have just said so." She said quietly, her grip against him strong. "And I only cried because you seemed upset. I don't like seeing you, or Jen, or Lix, or even Lucian, upset. It hurts. And this time, it was definitely my fault. But guess what? Every single word you say makes me smile as well. Perhaps not the moment you say it, but later on. That is the complete and total truth. Sorry that I didn't tell you earlier." She leaned against him within the hug, giving him an easy opportunity to lift her.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn wrapped his arms around Ashriel, burying his face in her neck. He took a deep breath, letting her familiar scent soothe him. "Thank you." He whispered. He stood there for a moment, just enjoying her presence. Then he straightened, picking up Ashriel as he did so. "Let's get you to bed." He said softly, carrying her to the bedroom and setting her down. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel smiled, quietly falling asleep in Raevyn's arms. Lately, it took very little to make her sleep. Of course, anyone would be tired after crying - it didn't take much. As he set her on the bed, she curled into herself, not even taking anything to fill that space. In inevitably, something would end up there, but for now, her arms were empty. Perhaps she was still partially awake, waiting for Raevyn.
Jennalin poked her head into the bedroom, and she looked at Raevyn quietly. Her eyes glanced over to see Ashriel already asleep, and she dare not question why. "So, should I just sleep on the couch? Or do you want me somewhere in here?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn finished tucking in Ashriel before he looked up at Jennalin to answer her question. "Doesn't really matter, I don't think." He glanced around the room then shrugged. "Beds big enough that you could probably just move my pillow and sleep on that side of the bed if you want. Or you could sleep on the couch. Whichever. Doesn't bother me as I'm sleeping in the same spot as always." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin nodded. "I'll sleep on the bed, then." She went back to the bathroom to change, putting on her pajamas quickly before walking back over to Raevyn. She laid herself down in the bed after moving the pillow. She looked at him quietly from where she lay in the bed.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn nodded easily. Once both girls were settled on the bed, he turn off the lights then shifted to his cat form. He trotted to the bed and hopped up, worming his way into Ashriel's arms and curling up there. "Not. A. Word." He told Jennalin, an embarrassed undertone to his voice. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Don't worry, I'd be a hypocrite. I've had sleep overs with Ash before." Jennalin told him quietly. She fell asleep quickly where she laid.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn didn't respond, merely burying himself in Ashriel's grip. He fell into a light sleep, though he kept his ears open for any odd sounds. He would wake if anything felt out of the ordinary. The tiger that should be....isn't....

--timeskippers-- Ashriel was the first to wake the next morning, releasing her grip on Raevyn slowly. She set him back on the bed, careful not to disturb his sleep. Using the wall as a just-in-case balance, she walked to the bathroom quietly. Very minimal weight was put on her foot, and she made it to the restroom without any issues. She shut the door behind her and sat down.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn lay on the bed, burying himself under the covers and into the warm spot Ashriel had left on the bed. "Did you make it okay?" He asked her sleepily, only half-awake. The tiger that should be....isn't....
