Ashriel had a light smile when Raevyn agreed, still upset that she'd upset him. "Sorry." She told him quietly, distracting herself with sipping her drink. Honestly, she'd hoped that he'd enjoy going out to eat, just like she did, but if he was upset, it wasn't fair. Not to him at all.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed, glancing at Ashriel. "You know, you really need to get over that whole 'sorry' thing." He told her, a small smile tugging at his mouth. He reached out to ruffle her hair fondly. "I'm fine. Honestly. I'll get used to it. It's just new to me. You forget - I haven't exactly had the cushy life." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel smiled as she spotted his small smile. When he ruffled her hair lightly, she couldn't help but ease her way into a much larger grin. "As long as you are sure." She said smoothly, glad that he wasn't too upset over this.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "I am." Raevyn assured her, pleased to see the smile on her face. He sighed, still chewing on the end of his straw. "Jeez. How long does it take to make whatever the hell an enchilada is?" He asked, bored with waiting. He'd never been very patient. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel smiled at his impatient remark. "About a half hour." She told him, knowing that he more than likely didn't care. Her eyes looked down at the table, wishing that she had more courage to actually lean over and kiss him to make the time go by faster.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn began grumbling under his breath, pausing occasionally to play with the straw. "Gah......I hate waiting......Should have just gone to hunt my dinner. Could have stalked, caught, and eaten it by now....." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel frowned again, with his grumbling. "I told you at the beginning that we could have just left. But now we have to wait for our food. I guess I shouldn't have tried, though." She added her remark at the end without explaining herself.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn paused in his grumbling as he heard Ashriel. "Shouldn't have tried what?" He asked curiously, not grumbling or complaining anymore now that he had a distraction. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel thought for a moment, reviewing her words. Hadn't she said? Apparently she hadn't. "To find something that we could do that you could relax and enjoy." She told him quietly, fiddling with her fingers. She'd brought him in here so that he might relax for once - it had been so long since he'd actually relaxed without her constantly petting him. And petting him put her to sleep in just minutes.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn gave her a half-smile that carried a hint of sadness. "Ashriel, when you've spent your entire life fighting just to be alive, relaxing doesn't come easy." He told her gently. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine." He didn't want her worrying about something like this. It was just the way he was, after a lifetime of fighting. In his short years, he'd seen more combat than most humans would in their entire life. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel nodded, far from content with his answer. "I know...I just..." Don't like seeing you upset. She cared about him; she couldn't just let him go. Biting her lip, she looked at him again. "I just wish that you could relax. Just...for a little while." Her voice was soft, gentle. Easing.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Ashriel....." Raevyn sighed and lowered his voice. "I'm a cat. When all is said and done, I'm just a cat that can look human for awhile. A human setting is never truly relaxing." Raevyn was a wild creature. Just being inside a building was an automatic tensing, an animalistic response he'd never truly mastered though he was good at hiding it. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Just a cat. Why did he always have to bring that up as an argument? It just reminded her that they weren't the same, at all. That they don't really have anything in common, she was just imagining it. Ashriel went silent until the food came; Ashriel's order turned out to be three times the size of Raevyn's, although they looked the same. She picked up her fork, beginning to eat.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Great. Raevyn sighed. Now he'd upset her again and he didn't even know what he'd said wrong this time. He leaned over to whisper in her ear. "Hey. Cheer up. This is your day out." He said, then kissed her cheek lightly and pulled back. He began examining his meal, wondering how it was eaten. "Fork maybe? Or is it a hand meal....." He wondered aloud, poking the enchilada. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel's lips curled into a tiny smile as he kissed her cheek. It remained there as he puzzled over how to eat his enchilada. "You use a fork. See? Like I am." She cut a piece of her burrito and took a bite, grinning now at him.
