Adriane went to the library and started to go through the books. Why did I even ask that? she htought. You know Zil, he wouldn't tell you his true feelings unless the world was going to an end. She sighed, and sat down near one of the walls of books. He just makes me feel so safe...like I can trust him with everything. Why couldn't I get my mind off him when we were lost? I couldn't possibly be in love with him...could I? Could that be everything that has been going on, and I was just to smart to realize it? No, that's way to cliche..." She picked up one of the books. But its true...

Zil shrugged. He did what he could. Knowing Adriane, even if he spelled it out to her, she would probably still resist or deny his ever addressing his feelings. He just felt that his love, requited or not, might never be answered. "It's the price I pay", he muttered to himself. All the while, he planned to remain loyal to her whether or not she felt the same for him.

Adriane made the decision. She would tell him when the fever broke. She didn't care about his nightmares or crazy antics. She just knew that she loved him, and would always love him. No matter what. She smiled a little bit, a little nervous still. She took a deep breath and put the books back. She then made some broth and took it up to his room. "Hey Zil..." she said. "I have some soup for you..."
((Is it sad and evil that I can see Zil taking a major turn for the worse?))

Zil perked up his ears when he heard Adriane enter the room again. "Hi again! What soup is that?", he asked cheerfully. He wasn't the biggest fan of vegetables but if Adriane made him, he supposed he would just have to deal with it.

Lawl~ Then it'd be the first time Zil would turn from comic relief into anti-hero. Most of the time, I portray him as a recovering anti-hero. Like... Kenshin from Samurai X ))

Adriane smiled. "Its just broth," she said. She set the bowl down on the table and sat in the chair next to his bed. "How are you feeling? You sound ten times better." She put her hand on his forehead. "And the temperature has gone down tremendously."

"Alright then", Zil said, noticing that it really was just broth. "Yeah! I feel better already. That medicine you gave sure worked like a charm!" He looked as cheerful as always but deep inside, he was hoping that Adriane would show some form of returning his feelings and not to leave him hanging.

Adriane smiled. "That's good," she said, taking his hand. She looked down and said, "So...What's the plan?" She took out a small map. "I mean, they'll be looking for us west of here, near the villages...But if we go east..and cross the mountains...we'll be out of the kingdom..."

"That makes sense. But if we head north east instead and go around the mountains, we'll find more settlements and it would be a lot less dangerous. We'll just have to pass soon and hope no one goes back to the village and tells people where we've gone", Zil said, pointing at the map. Adriane may have had the smarts but Zil always had the instinct.

Adriane nodded, and smiled. She had the urge to kiss him, right then and there. She looked deep into his crimson eyes, and said, "Zil...while you were asleep...you said something..."

Adriane was unspeakably close, as though she were about to kiss him. Zil felt a little uncomfortable although his heartbeat hastened. Then, she was going to say something he probably didn't want to hear. He gulped and took the chance, quickly cutting her off by saying, "I love you", before he kissed her on the lips, gently pulling away in the heat of it all.

Adriane blushed, then smiled. "Yes..." she said. She moved closer to him, pressing her lips to his. It was weird-his lips were softly than she had expected. She pulled away, and looked down. "That's what you said." She looked up and smiled. "And I love you too..."

Zil smiled, almost ready to burst into tears. He took Adriane's hands in his and said, "If you stay beside me, I promise to make you the happiest woman in the world!" He embraced her, holding tight, simply happy that she returned his feelings.

Adriane smiled and nodded. She hugged him tightly and said, "And its vis versa..." She stayed hugging him, breathing in his smell. She put her head on his chest.

Zil pinched Adriane's cheeks and said, "Sure, sure! You're so adorable." His voice sounded rather melodic and joyful as always. That was now. But what about beauty and the beast? Was it not morning? Time to show Lucien to Luminette?

Adriane swatted his hands away when he tried to pinch her. She let go of the hug and looked out the window. "Hey look, the snow is done..." she said. She got up off his bed and held out her hand. "Time to go show Mr. Lucien off to Minnie..."
