That's cool.

I'm hoping to hit the 52 mark this year. I've yet to actually meet it. But I think I can do it no problem as soon as I finish Dance with Dragons.

Not sure about next year. Olivia and Alexandria are a lot more independent and it's easier to get reading time in with them. But I'll have a newborn. So yeah...that will probably cut into reading time. Then again if said newborn is keeping me up all night that might add in a lot of time.

Yeah, always hard to know what reading time you'll have when one's schedule is constantly changing and new events/occasions pop up that cut into reading time.

That's why August has such a small amount of books I read in it. I was busy working at both jobs, volunteering at the humane shelter, and trying to utilize what free time I did have to finish my Codex cosplay. whee

My main issue is getting stuck in a book. I'll have a good speed going and suddenly I'm in a boring part and I struggle through it and then I'm back to reading slow.

That and the last few nights I've been to tired and barely getting through a chapter.

Oh, I know that feeling of being held back by the slow flow of a book's context. The current book I'm reading right now - The Ex-Files - is a collection of various short stories. The first two or so short stories took me forever to get through because they were so dry, confusing, and consistently used long run-on sentences. Thankfully not all of them are like that. I'm now into some short stories that are easy to breeze through. Hopefully the rest sticks with the nice flow for me and don't go back to the roughness of the first few stories.
