Jennalin looked at Raevyn, her blue eyes slowly fading back to their normal color. "No, what I meant was that I don't know how I'm doing it." She explained, her voice no longer echoing in their heads.
Ashriel looked at Jennalin quietly. "Glow's back to normal...and you stopped." She whispered, more or less to herself.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Well, whatever it is, it's annoying." Raevyn muttered, glad to have her stop. "But we really should look into it. Lucian might have a better idea of your background and anything that could cause this." He murmured thoughtfully. With Jennalin's voice no long annoying him, he settled down on Ashriel's lap again. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Jennalin nodded quietly. "I suppose Luke should know something." As if right on cue, the phone began to ring and there was a knock upon the door.
Ashriel laughed lightly, still finding the sibling's habits entertaining.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn jumped at the sound of the door and phone. Amber eyes glaring daggers, he rose and padded to the door, shifting to his human form as he did so. "I really hate that and we have a problem." He told Lucian simply, opening the door wider to let him in. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian only shrugged at Raevyn's first statement. "Old habits die hard?" He offered, before picking up on what Raevyn had actually said after that. "What do you mean by 'a problem'?" He questioned as he stepped in, apparently worried already.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn closed the door behind Lucian. "By 'problem', I mean we have untapped powers on our hands that we don't know what they'll do." He said, jerking a thumb at Jennalin. "You know as well as I do that untapped powers can sometimes act out on their own." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian looked at Jennalin and cursed under his breath. "This problem's kind of...one that we aren't able to solve by what I know of. We'll just have to be more careful...as we have absolutely no access to Jen's family history." He told Raevyn quietly, not liking this one bit.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn growled, not liking this anymore than Lucian did. "Nothing? Nothing at all?" He asked, unable to believe it. "How did she come to be with you then?" There had to be something, anything, that would give them a clue. He didn't like having untapped powers around him. They made him nervous. Especially if the powers were developed enough to activate on their own as Jennalin's had. He considered that a very big problem as there was no telling what could happen - Especially when they didn't even know the nature of the powers, what their focus was. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian glanced at Jennalin for a moment. "Jen...I need you to leave the room for a few minutes." She frowned, but reluctantly did as her brother asked. "That's...sort of...err...well... My mother found her. She'd been left in the bushes of central park, and none of the humans seemed to be hearing her crying. So my mother brought her home and went through the adoption process. For all we know, she could be fae." He whispered, he himself not a believer in the fae - he didn't think they were real.
Ashriel watched Jennalin walk out, her eyes on Raevyn and Lucian, feeling completely left out.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed, raking a hand through his hair at the news. "Lovely. Just lovely." He muttered under his breath. He seemed to have forgotten about Ashriel, too engrossed in this new problem. He personally didn't believe in the fae but that was simply because he'd never met any of them. He like to believe in things that were here and now, in front of him. "Which means we have no choice but to hope she gets a grip on those powers soon, before they start really flaring up. So far, the two flare ups were harmless, but magic rarely stays harmless or so I've found." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian nodded easily. "We'll have to keep an eye on her, definitely. And watch how many Weres she is around. If she has a spike with just you, who knows what would happen if she were in a place like Sanctuary. If necessary, I'll get my mother, who will be here tomorrow, to watch her while I'm working, and when you two have to work." He explained, nodding to Ashriel, who had abruptly decided to get up and was trying to now sneak around them out the door.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed and nodded. They couldn't bring Jennalin to Sanctuary. Who knew what her powers would do then, surrounded by that many Were's. "I think, for now, Jennalin will be fine around us one at a time, just minor flare ups. I would try to avoid any more than one Were being near her though, just in case." He glanced towards Ashriel and moved, catching her around the waist. "Nice try hon, but no." He said, carrying her back to the couch. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian nodded. "And we'll have to watch her more closely, so that nothing gets out of hand." He said, rolling his eyes as Ashriel pouted at Raevyn.
"I'm SICK of sitting around, doing nothing. I want to go out, do something." She insisted, moving to try and get out of his grasp so that she could head towards the door.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn gave up and just threw Ashriel over his shoulder, holding her there while he turned to talk to Lucian. "Definitely. So watch your step around her. And try not to use too much of your own powers. Who knows what you could spark. So far though, I'm leaning towards a more mental ability than physical." He spoke calmly, as if it didn't bother him at all to hold Ashriel on his shoulder as he spoke, ignoring her demands to go out. "When her power flared up, her eyes went icy blue and, it was weird but, when she spoke I could hear her and hear her." He said, emphasizing that he could hear her mentally. "Since I formed a link with her, I've been able to hear her mentally occasionally, but nothing like this clarity." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian nodded. It didn't seem that hard to handle. "Wait - you could hear her? Before...before she could only hear me. That might become problematic. And if that is only around you, I do fear what will happen around more." He said, his eyes on Ashriel, who was pounding at Raevyn's back, trying to get him to let her down. "Hm. Well, we'll have to just wait and see. For now, however, do you have anything you need to do? I have some free time, and can watch the girls."
"Raevyn! Not nice!" As Ashriel began to whine, she hit his back harder. Jennalin walked out at Ashriel's yelling, looking between the two males before looking at Ashriel.
"I feel as though I've missed something." --Out of my entire post, I think I like Jen's comment best. biggrin --
