Ashriel accepted that answer, looking down then. "That means...this is never really going to stop or die down." She said softly, frowning. She took to breaths, hugging onto them. Slowly, her own little 'glow' began to rise to a visible level - to everyone. It was a good thing that no one else was looking at all. It was an indigo color, softened into more of a light purple.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "It'll calm down once we prove that you're not a threat to them. There's been cases of human/Were matings. The Fates can be mean women at times." Raevyn added the last part in a mutter. He was about to explain further when he paused, seeing her glow. "Ashriel. Relax. Whatever you're doing, stop it. Just relax." He told her warningly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel relaxed slowly, her 'glow' going back down to be visible only to her. "What? What did I do?" She asked softly, continuing after a second. "Cases such as what?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "You're aura was visible." Raevyn told her quietly, ignoring her second question. "I don't know what you were doing, but I could see your aura. And I'm not an aura-reader like you. Which means it was visible to anyone. I'm just glad we were alone." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at Raevyn quietly, thinking things through. "Okay... You said there were cases of human/Were matings. What did you mean by that?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed, knowing she wouldn't drop it until he answered. "I meant exactly what I said - There had been cases before of humans and Were's getting together. Those that become officially mated are left alone as no Were will kill another's mate. Those that aren't mated, well, that's a different story." He said with a casual shrug, as if it didn't matter. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at Raevyn as she heard him mention those who weren't mated. "Raevyn," She said, her eyes looking at his. "What is the punishment for me knowing?" It was apparent that she was definitely not going to let this go now.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn ran a hand through his hair. He really didn't want to answer that question. And he wanted to lie even less than that. "It's not important alright? It's not gonna happen." He said dismissively, though his body was tense. There was something in his amber eyes, something almost like fear. It made one wonder just what it was that could scare the cat. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel frowned at Raevyn, her fingers reaching up to wrap around his hand. "I don't care if you don't think it is important. I want to know. I deserve to know." She told him insistently, her eyes gazing into his. "I want to know." She said softly now, recognizing the edges of fear in his eyes.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn looked at her, twining his hand with hers. No, she was right. She deserved to know what would happen to her. His golden gaze was bleak as he whispered one word. "Death." He hugged her close. "Unmated humans who know about the Were's have to be killed. They're considered a threat to our species." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel bit her lip, falling silent. She closed her eyes and snuggled against his chest, her face buried within it. It might seem odd, but she wasn't crying. In fact, she wasn't making a single noise as she hugged him. Her mind was going through all the things that were happening, trying to process them correctly.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn cradled her close, running one hand through her long hair. "I'm sorry." He whispered. "My world is such a bloody one......My people are." He sounded ashamed of his race, ashamed of the blood they had spilled. "I'm so sorry. I'll do everything I can to protect you." He murmured reassurances to her. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel pulled her face away from his chest, her thoughts finally clear. There was one thing that she had to ask. One thing that she had to know. "Raevyn." She said, her eyes again locking in on his. "What does it mean to mate?" It seemed to be the obvious question, to her at least. Her own fingers remained intertwined with his, offering some relaxant. Why wasn't she crying? She didn't see a reason for tears.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn blushed at the question. "Um....Well, it's kinda odd." He said awkwardly. "See, the first thing to know is Were's don't choose their mates. The three Fates do. Unmated Were's are free to have sex as much as they want." He hesitated then continued. "A Were becomes mated after he has sex with his destined mate." He turned her hand over, palm up, tracing a random design on her palm. "The mating mark appears on both of their palms. They then have three weeks to complete the mating ritual." He stopped there, letting her digest that. He left it up to her if she wanted to know about the ritual.
((And no, I'm not just pulling this out of thin air. It's actually based off a book series.)) The tiger that should be....isn't....

[|-|+What series? It sounds sort of familiar.+|-|] Ashriel nodded quietly. Her hand went back to gripping his after a moment. So much for that answer. No easy way out of this one, was there? Her eyes looked at one of the trees a ways away, trying to think. Nope, nothing. She looked back at him softly, hugging him again.
