The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "Well don't. They're cranky bitches." Raevyn told her bluntly. "They live to mess with people. I swear they get a sick joy out of it. If they didn't, then there wouldn't be so many people with stupidly messed up lives." The Were didn't exactly seem to hold them in high esteem. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel nodded quietly, falling silent again. She didn't care that Raevyn couldn't see her; she needed a few moments of silence. She lay flat on her bed, her eyes stared straight up at the ceiling.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn, sensing her need for silence, pulled his mind back. He left her alone, curling up in a beam of sunlight in the living room, nose tucked under his tail. When she was ready, she would come out. Until then, he would relax and enjoy the warm sun on his black fur. The tiger that should be....isn't....

After around ten minutes of utter silence, Ashriel stood up and took a deep breath. That was what she'd been needing - a few minutes away from everything. The same thing she used to go to her pond for. Then again, now she didn't know how to get to her pond. Maybe Raevyn had meant it that way? She opened the door quietly, smiling as she saw him in the sun. She sat down beside him quietly, petting his back gently.

Raevyn flicked his ears towards Ashriel as he heard the door open. He didn't move though, enjoying the warmth. As she pet him though, he moved. He uncurled, stretching out and yawning. He relaxed into a sprawled position, purring as she pet him.

Ashriel smiled, continuing to pet him. She looked up as the phone rang, listening for a knock on the door to go along with it. No knock. Huh. The phone stopped ringing after five rings, silence overtaking again. Ten seconds later, the phone began to ring again, and Ashriel stood, making her way over to the phone. It was slow, the cast still hampered her walking. But she could possibly make it before the phone stopped ringing.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Hearing the phone ring, Raevyn glanced towards the door, waiting for the knock. He frowned, twitching his whiskers as there was nothing. He looked back to the phone as it stopped ringing then started again. "Leave it Ashriel. I'll get it." He told her, his voice changing as he shifted to his human form, striding towards the phone. He picked it up, answering warily, "Hello?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel sighed as Raevyn went in front of her; she went to sit on the couch while he answered. From the other end of the phone came a sigh of relief. "Thank the gods you answered." Lucian's voice came smoothly through the phone. "My sister has wings." He said, so seriously that there was an edge of...worry was it? to his voice. "And I know I'd been planning to give you two a ride to the hospital, but...I can't exactly take a winged girl with pointy ears out in public..." He didn't realize that he hadn't mentioned the ears before.
"Raevyn, who is it?" Ashriel asked, as she stared at the cast, annoyed.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn's eyes widened slightly. He waved off Ashriel, more focused on what Lucian was saying. "Wings? Ears? You wanna run that by me again? What in the world are you talking about?" How the hell did Jennalin had wings? She was human! Wasn't she? She'd certainly smelled like any other human, though a gifted one. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Lucian sighed, cursing at his sister quickly. "Jen, I'm telling you! You can't go outside like that, goddamnit!" He called, before turning back to the phone. "I'm telling you, Jen has wings. It...is freaking me out. And her eyes are that icy bl-" He was distracted for a moment by something. "Huh? Her eyes went back to normal. And the wings and pointiness on her ears disappeared...ah, I'm bringing her over. I think you'll have to see." Lucian said, before hanging up.
"Raevyn! Who are you talking to? And what is that about wings?" So this was how Lixini must have felt each of the time Ash and Jen had had to hide something from her.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn ignored Ashriel, turning his back to her as he listened to Lucian. She could throw a temper tantrum for all he cared right now. This was just getting weirder and weirder by the moment. Once the line went dead, he brought his hand down, staring at the phone for a moment before hanging it up. "That.....was weird." He muttered to himself before sighing and looking at Ashriel. "Lucian and Jennalin will be here in a few minutes. And Jennalin.......is going through some changes. Apparently that eye color change is now accompanied by wings and pointy ears." He told her bluntly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel quieted once Raevyn answered her. She thought for a moment. "Well...if Were's are real, why wouldn't fairies?" She murmured to herself, leaning back on her couch.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn snorted. "Oh they're real alright. Nasty critters some of them. But two things that bug me about this - One, fairies tend to live more in the rural towns, preferring to be close to nature. And more importantly number two, they have a distinctive scent, very.....almost tangy I would say. But they're different from humans." All the fairies he'd seen though had been adults. He had no idea if Jennalin's age had anything to do with it, like how the Were's unlocked their powers at puberty. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at Raevyn quietly. "Didn't Lucian say that his mom found Jen in a bush? That's pretty darn close to nature. And...you say their scent is different. What would happen to a weak scent if it was surrounded by a bunch of strong scents? It would seem normal, right? Also...Jen's glow...it...err...is a little brighter than yours or Luke's. I never thought it meant anything." She said, shrugging lightly. "Maybe...maybe Jen had her 'scent' hidden. Maybe it just isn't strong yet." Her eyes focused on him. "After all, she is just now showing signs." She commented, before patting the couch next to her. Since it would be a few minutes before the two got here, she at least wanted Raevyn to sit next to her.
[|-|+Okay. Sorry if the plot twist seemed a little randomly placed. I'm just...bored today. And when I get bored, I tend to be malicious to my characters. By the way, Happy New Year. *even though I'm four hours in*+|-|]

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... ((No worries. ^_^ I love random plot twists. Way out in left field is my favorite place to be. And Happy New Years, though I'm 2 hours in.))
Raevyn sighed, running a hand through his hair. She moved to sit next to Ashriel, throwing an arm around her shoulder to hold her close. "Maybe. We'll see when she gets here I suppose. No sense in speculating until then." She did have some good points though, and he mulled those over in his mind as they waited. The tiger that should be....isn't....
