As I've done in the past with my past readings, I will post my comments here while I read, and then use those comments and whatever to help form my CR. 3nodding

The poem "Captivity" is intriguing how it's written from a white woman's perspective of the tribal people she's captured by. But it makes me wonder... why was she taken prisoner?

This is interesting to know - "The same Chippewa word is used both for flirting and hunting game, while another Chippewa word connotes both using force in intercourse and also killing a bear with one's bear hands."

*chuckles* This story "Old Man Potchikoo" is amusing. He ends up being born looking like a potato until he grows up... and then the woman he ends up falling in love with is actually some wooden figurine. xd

Wait, what the heck?! So was the stones the breasts of three woman? Or were the stones the breasts of Potchikoos' daughters? gonk This story is so bloody weird!

Gonna go change my avi's outfit. 3nodding

I'm back. 3nodding I managed to create an outfit using the two things I wanted to use - the free black Prom dress and the Saga mate. Decided to include the broom to add a witch aspect to my outfit, the moon - because every werewolf needs their Moon to howl at, and roses at the feet ((to signify my new relationship, lol)). xd

I decided to start doing some researching for my second essay. Especially since I only have a little over a week to get it all together. Yeah! Hard to believe it's only that amount of time. In fact, I only have 5 more days of class. eek

Originally for my paper I was going to do it on the topic of Spirit Animals, but so far I've only found one of our texts talking about it. So I decided on a new topic - wolves. Which then made me think of the werewolves from the Twilight Saga. So as a result, I'm going to be talking about the Quileute tribe and the importance of wolves in their culture.

It's actually pretty interesting reading about their tribe, especially revolving around the wolf aspect. Meyer did a pretty good job taking some of the Quileute stories ((such as their creation story - them being transformed into humans from wolves)) and blending it into her Twilight saga story. And there's various other things too.

But for the sake of you Twilight dislikers I won't say much more on the matter. At least not for the Twilight aspect of things. I may end up talking about the Quileute tribe though.

*dances around to Shakira's "She Wolf"*

A lot of the books I'm looking at only give the brief overview of the creation story of the Quileute people - that they were transformed from wolves. I wish there was a book or a source that gave a more in depth detail for this myth. Because that's the whole reason why I choose this tribe - because of that myth.
