Luminette's eyes got all watery again. "Don't say things like that; I already want to hug you as it is." she murmured, giving that childish puppy pout of her's once more. Lucien really was sweet, wasn't he?

"I know the feeling, believe me..." Lucien said, that sad smile on his face again. "So, are you bound to this place? Or will I have to trudge through the snow every time I want to see you until you have a proper body once more?"

"Not exactly. I can roam the forest quite a bit, but I still can't be too far away. That's part of why I've refused any attempts of burying my body. It would just limit how much contact I have with the world." Luminette could not help but see the irony in her own words. She knew that she was a danger, that she should stay as far away from others as much as possible. Yet, here she was, unable to resist the call of companionship even now. In life, Luminette never liked being alone. In death, her hatred for solitude only multiplied tenfold.

Lucien folded his arms, putting one hand to his chin in thought. "Well, what if I just...moved your body? You'd still be a free spirit, relatively speaking, but you could at least be closer to the castle." he suggested. "I don't exactly have the thick skin of a monster to protect me from the winter air anymore. As much as I love you, you'll have to forgive me if I don't care to risk freezing to death every time I want to see you."

Luminette looked over to where her skeletal hand eternally reached out, an almost pained look in her eyes as she stared for several moments. Eventually, she looked towards Lucien and replied, "If you wish, feel free. I would ask that you be careful with it, though. I'm fairly certain some of the leg bones were broken or at least cracked in my fall..." Her tone of voice was gentle, almost certainly reluctant to even entertain the possibility. Still, how could she say no to Lucien? Especially now, of all times?

"Don't worry, I have no intention of letting any further harm come to you." he said as he stooped down for the cloak he'd dramatically torn off earlier and laid it flat on the ground. Grimacing, he gingerly moved her skeleton onto it and scooped the whole package up in his arms once he made sure he had every tiny fragment of bone accounted for.

Once Lucien held her bones a certain way, Luminette floated over to do something rather strange. She positioned her spectral form so that it covered every inch of her bony remains. The skeleton was still visible somewhat, but she was able to focus her energy enough to make herself look much less 'see-through' than her spirit normally did. Resting her spiritual head on his shoulder and closing her eyes, she said, "I wish I never ran off that night. Or that maybe I'd tried to confess on a not so stormy day." The way she spoke was gentle, clearly weary, perhaps even a little lonesome. "Maybe if I'd been smarter, none of this would have ever happened."

"I don't know what I was thinking back then." Lucien sighed in guilt. "I knew how bad the weather was. I should've tried to stop you." he said as he looked down at her sadly. A hint of a smile tugged at his cheeks though with the way she positioned herself to rest in his arms as best a spirit could. "If only I had the courage to say something sooner; if only we'd never had that silly fight...If only, if only, if only. I never realized how sad such a simple pair of words could be."

"If only our dwelling could change a thing." A melancholy chuckle escaped Luminette's lips. She opened her eyes, although only barely, to gaze up at Lucien. "All we can do is try to exist as best we can with what we've been dealt." After a pause of about five secconds she continued, "I have no doubt that is easier said than done."

"We were clearly born under some bad stars then. I suppose I should be lucky you didn't just pass on and leave me alone for good." Lucien said as they neared the castle. The real question was where he'd put her body until the day she could get a new one and bury the old.

"That was more a consequence of my taint and misfortune than any willing action of mine. Even if everything were resolved, being improperly unburied for so long has probably diminished any chance I have at naturally passing on." Luminette admitted with a small sigh.

Lucien frowned. "All the more reason to find you a proper body then. We certainly can't have you stuck a wandering spirit for all eternity." he said as he stepped into the castle entryway and looked around. It felt odd being in the decrepit old castle, its beauty worn away over time, while he looked as young and fresh as ever. "Now the question is where to keep your body until you can have a proper burial." he said as he looked around in thought.

"Somewhere dignified, if possible." Luminette suggested in a rather hopeful tone, honestly not wishing for her body to be roughly stuffed into another jagged hole or something. It was still her body, after all, even if it was nothing but bone.

"Then I know just the place." Lucien didn't spare a second in heading up to the guest rooms and opening the door to the very room Luminette once stayed in so long ago. "Look familiar?" he asked with a smile as he gently lay her body down on the bed. "I haven't touched a thing since you left."
