 I thought things were finally going to go well with one of our residents that we would have his whole cigarette situation back in order. But nope, I have to be the bad guy again because I won't give him a cigarette outside of his designated cigarette times. *sighs* Just thankful that my co-worker happened to pass by to help me explain that he has to wait until the next designated time to get a cigarette because he was already starting to build up to that argumentative state he gets into. "I'm an adult and it's my cigarettes!" Yes, both are true, but that still doesn't change the rules.

I did one of those "Did You Know" questions on Facebook and it was "The superpower I want most is...". I responded ability to fly and/or Empathic Mimicry.
One of my friend's cousins got really into the whole thing asking "But what if there was no other super around if you had Mimicry?" It was interesting at first until he kept deflecting every response I made about how those with empathic mimicry still have their own basic powers whether there's any other super around or not, and depending on the variation you have you could have a storage of powers to resort back on. But he was insistent that there was no other super from the get-go... as in I was the only super in the entire world. talk2hand

Looks like I'm not the only one who has noticed that Doc has been limping. Both of the med aids have asked me how he's been doing and whether Jami's taken him to the vet or not. Not sure if they noticed on their own terms, residents notified them, or if word got passed along the grapevine from me e-mailing Tabatha about it in my daily report yesterday. Either way I hope he gets checked out soon.

I'll have to go upstairs towards the end of my shift to do filing since I forgot to ask my co-worker if she would be available to watch the front desk for me to do it this afternoon. Oh well.

I just went ahead and called up and asked her. So, I'll be able to have someone watch the front desk fairly soon and I can get filing done. Glad there's not much for me to do this time around. Still have to pull down everyone's binders but I'll be able to get through them quickly.

Just saw that I had an e-mail from my manager from last night in regards to Doc.
"I would appreciate being called and told this during vet hours, if we're making this assessment during this time frame. Also, I was in the building today and wasn't informed that there was even a potential problem.
In the future, just please call and let me know these kinds of things immediately."
First off, I don't appreciate the rude tone I'm picking up from your words.
Secondly, my assessment of his condition might be wrong. I'm no vet. Just a cat lover and someone who did some quick research online. Not to mention, he's walking a bit better today than he was yesterday, though still limping.
Thirdly, when you came in, I was busy working at the time and you came and went so fast I didn't have time to catch you to tell you anything.

Part of me wants to respond to the e-mail with essentially aspects of what I posted earlier but the other part of me is saying not to because she would rather want a call than an e-mail. Not to mention, she's already bugged everyone with getting updates on his condition.
The way I've heard some of the others talk, she seems to be all "doom and gloom" about his condition, like anything could be a sign of needing to put him down. Uh, no. Doc is perfectly fine. He's older, so he's going to have more trouble walking because of arthritis. And yes, he's been throwing up because your residents - despite being told otherwise - keep giving him human food that's upsetting his tummy. rolleyes

Sometimes I feel like I care more about the two cats' welfare than anyone else around here. Maybe it's just because I've gotten so much experience working with older cats through the animal shelter. Or just being a cat lover. But still...

I got a bit warm from doing all that though. *sighs* Debating whether to make a quick step outside or not.
Eh... I'll wait. Too many people lingering in the lobby right now who will wonder what the hell I'm doing.
