[A]shrielAshriel noted the gaze, and she smiled lightly, taking it in stride. "Something about you is different than normal cats. I like it." She said before standing up to wander into her kitchen. It was actually rather basic. A couple of cruddy counters, a cheap stove, and a two door fridge. The cupboards were above and below the counters, though the fronts appeared to be chipping horribly.
She pulled out a couple of cans of tuna fish, opening both. One she dumped into a plastic cereal bowl and took out to the cat, setting it on the couch in front of him. She then returned into the kitchen, mixing the other in a Tupperware bowl along with sweet relish and Miracle Whip. I'm gonna need to buy a cat food and water dish...and a litter box...and cat food.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn took one look at the tuna, then looked up at Ashriel as if asking you seriously expect me to eat that? He seemed to sighed though, and reached out one paw to pull the bowl closer. He was used to eating all kinds of things, no matter how much he disliked it. He began to eat in neat, dainty little bites. He paused though, smelling Ashriel's food and deciding that smelled better. He struggled off the couch, working around the cumbersome splint. Limping into the kitchen, he patted her foot with one paw and meowed demandingly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

[A]shrielAshriel looked down at the cat and frowned, hurrying off to the living room. Lovely, not too much of the fish had been eaten. She picked up the fish before having the most brilliant of ideas... At least, she thought it was brilliant. She mixed that tuna like she had hers, and she set the plastic bowl back down on the floor for him as she prepared a sandwich with her own. Weird cat.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn followed along behind her, limping and meowing insistently until he had his own bowl of the mixture. Once that was done, he ate contentedly, finishing off the whole bowl. He wiped his whiskers clean, licking his paws then swiping them across his muzzle. Clean, he sat, tail curled around his paws, and merely watched. His intelligent amber gaze never left Ashriel, watching her every move warily. While he was calmer now, he still didn't seem entirely pleased by her. The tiger that should be....isn't....

[A]shrielAshriel looked down at him softly. "I don't suppose you'll eat cat food, now will you?" She asked him, lifting him up after she'd cleaned the bowls. Already she had finished her food, and she was carrying him lightly towards the door. Either way she would need to head to Pet-smart to pick up cat litter and a litter box. She headed out the door with him in her arms, walking down to the local Pet-smart. She was thankful she lived so close to a pet-care strip mall, it made this so much easier. Shopping, here I go.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn looked miffed at the idea of eating cat food. He'd tried once. The stuff was disgusting. He didn't know how real cats ate it. He hissed in displeasure as Ashriel picked him up. He struggled in her arms, hating being held. It made him feel helpless, as if there was nothing he could do. He clawed his way up to her shoulder where he sprawled across the back of her neck, back legs on one shoulder and forelegs on the other. That was better. This he could tolerate. The tiger that should be....isn't....

[A]shrielAshriel laughed as the cat sprawled itself across her neck. She found it rather funny. Stepping into Pet-smart, she walked down the isles, grabbing the cheapest litter box she saw. Then she found the least expensive kitty litter. She could always sprinkle in some baking soda if necessary. She went to check-out, going through quickly. As soon as she was checked out, she hurried home.
Back in her apartment, she put the cat down on the floor in her bathroom, which looked like it came out of the eighties. She set up the litter box with kitty litter, glancing at the black cat. "Please tell me you'll at least use that, and I didn't use that last fifty dollars for nothing." Her tone of voice made it clear that money was extremely tight with her. Please use that.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn watched in boredom as she shopped. He didn't care. Back in the apartment though, he looked at the littler box like it was offensive to him. He glared at Ashriel for a half-second then turned and stalked out of the bathroom, not giving the litter box a second glance. He'd forgotten what it was like to actually be treated like a cat. The tiger that should be....isn't....

[A]shrielAshriel sighed. "There goes fifty dollars that should have been used for rent." She left the litter box, but she went to sit at the dining table, looking at the bills she had left over from rent. Yup. Figures. Just barely she had enough for the rent. Looks like she'd be having tuna for a while. Brilliant. Low on money. Again.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn turned and followed her into the kitchen. He scrambled onto the table, having to work harder because of the splint on his leg. Once he was up though, he sat and looked over the papers. After a moment, he rose and shuffled the papers, dragging them into a different order. He tapped one and meowed insistently. Looking at the papers, he'd seen something Ashriel had missed, a little mistake that would grant her an extra sum of money. Not too much, but enough to make a difference. The tiger that should be....isn't....

[A]shrielAshriel watched the display, wide-eyed. "How did you-" She couldn't finish her sentence. However, she did glance at the paper and relax. "Looks like we won't be eating just tuna salad after all." Her fingers combed through her hair as she recalculated how much money she had. Okay, this worked a lot better. She lightly pet his head, hoping that the odd cat would like it. Odd genius cat.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn looked smug as she realized what he'd done. The smug look disappeared the instant she touched him though. Down went his ears and up came his paw, claws flashing out at Ashriel. He hissed at her in warning. He backed away from her until his back legs slipped on the edge of the table. He stumbled, then caught his balance, standing at the edge of the table and hissing. The tiger that should be....isn't....

[A]shrielAshriel looked at him lightly. "So you don't like that." She withdrew her hand, going back to working through the papers. "You are one strange cat." Her eyes glanced over the calculations, recalculating every few minutes to double check her work. It was rent day, so she'd have to pay it as soon as her proprietor came to pick up the rent. Wonder if he's just hurt there...or if he is really different from most cats.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Once Ashriel withdrew her hand, Raevyn relaxed and stopped hissing. He moved forwards again to sit and watch her work. He sat neat, paws tucked underneath him and tail wrapped lightly around paws. Occasionally, he reached out a paw to correct her work or point out something she'd forgotten. Every move me made just seemed to emphasize how odd of a cat he really was. He didn't dare risk returning to his human form though, not with Ashriel there. The tiger that should be....isn't....

[A]shrielAshriel finished her tabulating just as the proprietor came to pick up the rent. She pulled out her checkbook, carefully writing the check before handing it to the proprietor. The man thanked her, and then he left for the other apartments. "Just what are you?" Ashriel asked, turning to the cat on the table. "You don't seem to be an ordinary cat." What is that cat?
