((Don't need humans right away to start))
Amaya padded through the forest like a dark whisper. Her soft paws carried her quickly across the mossy forest floor as she moved towards the center of the forest. The young goddess had gone through this routine for years, though now the humans were disrespecting the forest of the gods, the very place that used to protect them. She was angry yes, so she hoped to find one of the other gods at the center of the forest who would be willing to help her fight back against the humans, at whatever cost to save their forest. It was dangerous, but at this point, Amaya felt as though they didn't have a choice anymore.

Jin lay in the forest's center when one of his canine ears twitched, alerting him to Amaya's nearing presence. "I was wondering when someone was going to show up." he said cooly as the wolf god slowly raised his dusty brown head to look in Amaya's direction and stand up on his four paws. "Any idea where the others are?"
((Unfortunately I g2g just as this is getting started. sweatdrop Bbl! ))

Ayala stepped into the forest's center quietly, a few moments after Jin spoke. "I don't know of the others, but I'm here," she said, feeling a bit skittish since she was alone with two predators, even if they were her fellow gods. Despite the moss and twigs on the ground, her hooves made no sound as she walked.

"Take your time to get here and suddenly everyone is showing up..." Amaya observed as she looked to the other two gods that had arrived by the time she reached Jin. She nodded her head to all of them in respect. Conversing with the other gods was not something Amaya was typically known for, but since the creatures of the forest and the humans were technically at war with one another, it didn't seem that she could ignore it. "Good to see you two are well." She told Janelle and Ayala, finding it appropriate to say at the moment.

"This is hardly the time for pleasantries." Jin said cooly as he walked to the edge of the clearing the gods were meeting at, allowing them to sit in a circle while they discussed their business. "The forest is losing its power as we speak. We need to figure out what to do about the humans now."

Taking a seat, the panther goddess licked her paw easily as she looked to Jin. "As much as I dislike going into the cities, I suggest we take human form and gather information about the humans and what they are planning so we can stop them before we act against them." She said. "None of the humans know who we are when we take our other forms, and we can learn without drawing attention to ourselves."

Otter walked up. He never used their names unless they yelled at him or when Panther gave him a dirty look. "That sounds nice. Sneak in and spy, and when they misbehave, smash 'em. Sounds soooo fun." He was being sarcastic. He didn't like non-clam-related violence. That reminds him, he is hungry.

Ayala tilted her head to the side, listening to both the panther and otter before formulating an answer of her own. "Well, it is the way other gods before us have done things when humans disobeyed them in the past," she said thoughtfully.

((Did my hawk picture break? Here's a new link just in case: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg78/futnatus/creatures/harris_hawk_arizona.jpg ))
'Bang' 'woosh' 'bang' ... Why do they try? These bullets do not reach my wings. No doubt they will, one day... What an unfortunate end it will be, to lose his life along with his domain. Yet, that time was not yet. Zaco flapped his wings hard and flew ever higher.
The sounds of conflict below had ended, and what lucky survivors - if you could ever consider those blood-bathed fools lucky - were taking shots up at the sky at the sighting of the eagle. It was awfully inconsiderate, but expected of their kind.
The sights far below changed quite quickly as he glided through the air, a weather eye kept constantly on the changing scenery. Rivers, forests, human settlements and their many roads. It all seemed so pleasantly insignificant from the sky. In his domain, he would be forever in peace, that is until the humans found their way even there.
Zaco began to lower his altitude, slowing down and dropping further and further. The wind felt ever so pleasant as it ruffled his feathers and caressed his break. Soon he could hear their voices again, the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. They may be idiotic monkeys, but then there were these moments...
The hawk lowered himself to the human town he had come across and perched on the edge of a rooftop. They were busy, always busy, whether working to better their lives or, seeing the children, busy in play. They created such odd controls in their lives, money, social class, power, that it seemed they would always have something to strive for. Turning his head, Zaco gazed over the town walls to the nearby forest. Even right now, it was being cut down, the trees brought back for processing. A tear escaped the hawk's right eye and sunk into his feathers. And they did anything they could, with little care for the ways of their ancestors. The humans had forgotten everything that was important. They would pay no doubt, for this was an unwise way of life. Living beyond their means, always expanding... maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow - but humanity could not live in such a fashion forever. When all the forests were cut down, when all the earth dug up, where would they go, what would they do then? The answer was evident, they already did this over the current land, no matter how much there was - They fought and slaughtered each other.
There was yelling from below and Zaco turned to look, only to find a young female child pointing at him and yelling excitedly. Several of her kin joined her in admiring his natural form. Somehow, they still understood. Would they all forget the beauty of nature when they came of age? The hawk stayed still for a while but then spread his wings, earning laughs of awe from his small audience. Such simple pleasures could humble the heart of any being.
The hawk turned his gaze from them to the surrounding buildings and then took off. The bird vanished within the alleyways and corners of the buildings, only to emerge as a man moments later. The children were running over and some asked excitedly where the hawk had flown. Zaco looked down at them with a gaze of deep longing that no doubt none of them understood, his brown eyes darker than usual. He then pointed to the small alley he had come from, and the lot rushed away.
The God walked through the town, passing numerous humans, who were either very happy in each others company or too busy to notice anyone but themselves. It was impossible to understand this much diversity. Their race made little sense in nature... Amongst the smells of burning coal and wood, something else caught his nose. Zaco's nose twitched as he turned to look at a stall of fresh fruit. The people behind the counter were occupied in chit chat and preparing some form of stew. He smiled mischievously as he took the chance to grab an apple out of the stall and turned around. He looked at it with a smile. The fruit was so very fresh and delicious. Looking up from his catch, his eyes caught someone staring at him though. It was another of their children, a little bit more poorly dressed than the others and dirty. The stared back at the God with strangely great desire, and Zaco figured out it was the apple. Why were there so many of them? Even rabbits did not overpopulate this much!
...Those puppy eyes being given to him were starting to get bothersome. Zaco approached the boy slowly, taking small steps while wondering if he could do anything. Give up the apple? Nay. It was his catch, and all in nature fended for themselves. He had just passed a corner as he stopped in front of the kid, and something else caught his senses. This smell was disturbing, something was wrong. The God's eyes slowly turned to his right, where, behind another merchant's stall, there was... the sight of... headless, skinned birds hanging by their feet from the stall roof. The God's mouth opened in shock, he shook as he took in the sight and the apple fell from his grasp. In a mere second he was a bird once more, and high above the town in the sky. His eyes watered as he flew fiercely against the wind toward the horizon, hoping the wind could cleanse his mind from his anger and pain. In the town, the poor boy had been taken aback by the God turning back into his animal form, but was more than happy to have the apple all to himself. No one else appeared to have taken note of the stranger.
Their forest was up ahead after a while. More than smell... he could feel them. The spirits of these animals were far stronger that of those born in nature. Zaco landed on a tree top overlooking the clearing the other Gods had joined at, his talons wrapping around the thin branch.
He observed them silently before calling down, "the sky greets you, children of the land... And water." He did notice the otter there as well. A most peculiar group of individuals to say the least.
((Also for human ideas, it's very easy! Someone be the evil human wanting to hunt Gods, cos they're badass like that. Someone else is the human that without care cuts down all the trees and turns them into toothpicks and wooden statuettes of animals - just to piss them off on purpose, or for decoration y'know. Also someone be the innocent villagers, and then the cool forest-ranger-spirit-worshipper-man.))
