I watched with amusement as several of the other people frequenting this area ended up going for the 'safe' looking punch... and ended up with a little tentacle surprise.
I ate ravenously myself, gulping down the dark red punch and biting savagly into my steak, before going back for a plate of dessert. I was nearing full for the moment, but with the way my body metabolized I'd be hungry probably in the next 20-30 minutes. I got some cheesecake, a slice of cherry pie, and some mochi balls, and I scarfed them down happily.
I burped before discarding the plateware, and going to wander around the ballroom myself.

After watching the tentacle monster attack other people, I quickly set down my cup as a tentacle creeps out of it. I shudder at the little critter and make my way over to the snack tables for something to munch on.

Damon, the vampire spirit, led Moonie towards the refreshment table. He let her slide away from his gentle grasp as she stepped forward to pour herself a glass of the dark red liquid. After seeing the effects of the last punch bowl's contents and not willing to try the second punch bowls contents, Moonie felt that it was safer to drink the punch she already knew about. "Do you want anything?" asked Moonie, turning to look at Damon. " I'm good," replied Damon. " As a ghost, I don't have to worry about food anymore." "Oh, right," said Moonie. Although she knew that the vampire spirit was a ghost, his human-like appearance made it hard to remember he was simply a ghost. Damon chuckled hearing her response but said nothing in response. He simply flashed his mischievous smile in her direction.

The place had seemed abandoned, but Ember soon found signs of life; as she investigated she found signs of food as well. Still with the basketball-sized orb hovering over her shoulder, her heavy steps lead her to the array of tables, bedecked with an even greater array of food-stuff.
As her gaze passed over it, analysing the various edibles on display as best she could, she... Wait; was that a life sign in the punch bowl?
Yes, yes it was; how peculiar.
Seeing how the foods were organised, Ember chose the middle table, identifying the various meats on display. Acquiring a plate she began constructing a meal piece by piece, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, some condiments for extra flavouring...
Content with her plate, the robo-girl stepped away from the tables to give others room to fill themselves. There was no shortage of goodies to glut upon.
Occupying a nearby chair, she started to eat.

From where Ember was seated, she could just faintly make out the sound of bubbles rising to the surface of a body of liquid and popping. Slowly, almost what one would describe as cautiously, a slender pink tentacle breached the surface of the punch bowl to curl about in the air.

Why Not Tentacle Monster From where Ember was seated, she could just faintly make out the sound of bubbles rising to the surface of a body of liquid and popping. Slowly, almost what one would describe as cautiously, a slender pink tentacle breached the surface of the punch bowl to curl about in the air. A window appeared on the bottom left corner of her Heads Up Display, displaying an equaliser-styled playthrough of the strange bubble sound. Looking up mid-chew, she observed the source of the bubbling to be the third punch bowl. Zooming in, she was just in time to witness the tentacle break the surface; it's behavior best described as 'feeling' the air. She had been thirsty before then, and lamenting not having procured a drink while she was at the refreshment tables. Now, not so much.

The slimy tentacle weaved about a moment more before finding the chilled glass edge of the punchbowl. It adhered to the surface with its suckers and used the leverage to hoist itself further from where it had come, three more tentacles now emerging from the fruit-punch.

A few more tentacles popped out of the punch, and the robo-girl figured that whatever was in the punch bowl, was climbing out of it. Concerned, her robo-ball circled about; making R2-D2 beeping noises.

Saikii approached the refreshment tables. The sight of the punch bowls left her feeling uneasy. Her memories from the Halloween party were still hazy at best. But, she did recall mixing the punch: an action that ultimately made her hurl. The tentacle monster was also a familiar sight, though, by now, she had seen enough of it to not be as uncomfortable with that as she was about mixing all three punches. She didn't ask. Part of her didn't want to know. Thus, she wasn't quick to approach the punch as she was last time. Instead, she stepped over to the sweets table, where cupcakes, cookies, and candies were laid out.

The white tablecloth draped on the refreshment table was now stained with bright red punch. The creature took a minute to orient itself, used to the buoyancy of liquid, finding its balance on two 'feet' and a 'tail'. Its 'arms' flailed about, a squeal issuing from... somewhere... as it toppled backwards and landed on the floor.

Ember sat there calmly, still eating, as she watched the creature emerge from it's home. If she was surprised something of it's size could fit in the punchbowl, she didn't show it. However, as it squealed and fell backwards with a wet slop, she felt compelled to act. She rose from her chair, walking over to the creature where it lay and held out an arm for it. "Excuse me? Are you alright?" she asked, bent over slightly

Passing through the double doors, through the entry hall, and into ballroom, Moonie found the place fairly empty. Only two other Why Notians were roaming around, checking out the refreshment table. She decided to grab something to snack on until there was signs that something more exciting was going to happen - which usually meant dancing.
"Roses are red, violets are blue..." whispered Moonie, as she walked over to the dessert table and grabbed herself a heart-shaped cookie. She took a bite from her cookie watching as Ember interacted with the pink tentacle monster that had fallen out of its punch bowl.

Crouching low behind the windowsill, Peyton's doe-like eyes trailed from fine silken gowns to velvet purses the female guests carried. She was silent, staring fixedly into the refreshments room. "Ohh," she mumbled to herself, immediately noticing the strange scene around a table serving punch. It seemed there was an incredibly unbalanced cuttlefish - squid, raging monster from the deep, whatever - finding it hard to keep still on his own six tentacles. This little event was fortunate, for now the guests were distracted, giving Peyton the opportunity she needed. The chilly wind continued to sweep past, miserable as her drifting thoughts. She blew on her hands in the hopes that it would help against the cold. 'How nice it would be if I lived somewhere with a fireplace,' indicating the large hearth in the far corner. 'They wouldn't notice me now even if I walked right through the front door. Maybe I could. It would save the trouble of this whole stealth thing.'

"Hey Moonie," Saikii mused as she saw her friend approach the sweets too. The fox girl grabbed a plate, plucking a few sweets from the table before she heard the tentacle monster fall to the floor. With a twitch of her left fox ear, she craned her neck and glanced over to see Ember checking on the squid-like, octopus-like creature. This was a curious matter, as she had never seen the thing get out of its punch bowl before. Then an idea occurred. Perhaps the tentacle monster wanted to join the festivities. She grabbed a frosted cookie off her plate, set her plate down for a moment, and turned and joined Ember where it was," You think it eats people food?" She tilted her head, curiously. Where would such a think intake food? She didn't see a mouth. Eat tail twitched out of her curiosity.

"Hey there," said Moonie. She followed behind Saikii staying just far enough away from the pink tentacle monster to avoid any sudden 'hugging' that she knew tentacle monsters like to do. "Considering we usually find their kind in the punch bowls, I would assume that human food would be right up their alley."
