I can't recommend any authors, I don't remember any from the books I read. sweatdrop Well, my favorite genre is fantasy romance, you know, futuristic romance, historical romance, and spells, sorcery, etc. heart Yay for romance books!

Wheel of time is alright, but it slows down in the later books. I like the MemorySorrowandThorn trilogyby Tad Williams, Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind, the Dreamstone (or Dreaming Tree) by CJ Cherryh, and the Renshai Chronicles by Mickey Zucker Reichert. among MANY others. for Modern Fantasy try the Incarnations of Imortality books by Piers Anthony.

and pratchett. cuz who doesn't love terry pratchett ? LoL whee

I judge books by the jacket cover inside details whatever sounds good i read. Then theres always things recomended and or borrowed. Right now im reading the Howls Moving Castle duo by Dianna Wynne Jones (the sequals called Castle in the Air). But i do rather like Terry Brooks novles, im burned out on Harry Potter... they always kill off my favorite character *fums.* Lets see..... I like a story where theres a definite hero with some sort of internal problem with themself who overcomes their problems every novel. I also like happy endings... or somewhat happy endings incase someone just has to die.

Well, everyone has pretty much taken my suggestions, but I shall repeat them for you (i'm listing the authors):

♥ Tamora Pierce - various series
♥ Gail Carson Levine - Ella Enchanted (that movie is so screwed up compared to the book. The book is sooo much better!)
♥ David Eddings
♥ Terry Brooks
♥ Catherine Asaro
♥ Isobelle Carmody
♥ Kate Forsyth
♥ Eoin Colfer - Artemis Fowl series
♥ Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials

Check out these series of books and you can't go wrong! Have fun!

Like some of my friends here say "The Wheel of Time" series by:Robert Jordan.
Also Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funke are great. My girl friend recomended them to me and they're nice but they need a anouther book in the series.
Also the Scions of Shinara series by Terry Brooks. He's got a bunch of great books.
And don't forget to check out the Dragon Lance series by margret weis.
There's also a series of nice novels. The titles are Dragonkeeper, Dragonspell and Dragonknight. Sorry I don't remember the author.
If you'd like any more ideas leave a post on my profile I read tons of fantasy novels.

Explore the cave that is my chest,

Fantasy Novels I'd recomend (aside from the one's BluePod's listed) :
~ Guardians of Ga'Hoole - Kathryn Lasky (series of 7 books)
~ Redwall - Brian Jaques (they're a series)
People have suggested Artemis Fowl, those are good. People have suggested Dragon Rider (same author as Inkheart and Inkspell), also good.
I would have to go dig through my pile of books to find more.

A torch reveals there's nothing left.

I agree with Gaurdian and Elf.

Tamora(Tammy) Peirce: (Check out her site at tamorapeirce.com )
Recomended books:
Song of the Lioness and beka Cooper are good starters.
Brian Jacques: redwall. You should read all 20 odd books!
Cornellia Funke: Lovely writer! She has a nice style, but also has trouble with some smaller details.
Bruce Corvelle or summit like that,: The unicorn chronicles.
Robin McKinnly: "The Hero and the Crown" and "The Blue Sword."
Avi: "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" and the Poppy books.
