One of the Good Omens' scenes got me thinking... during Jesus' crucifixation, Aziraphale asks Crowley if he had met Jesus prior to that moment. Crowley states that he did, that he showed him the "kingdoms of the world." And for the record, this is indeed mentioned in the Bible. It's the Devil who is tempting Jesus but Jesus keeps declining the Devil's offers.
What really gets me is... why do churches not even mention this aspect of Jesus' life? Like... we get taught about his birth, how he was raised as a carpenter's son, he goes around teaching about the power of love as he becomes older, him being put on the cross, and coming back to life after three days. But no mention of the Devil trying to tempt Jesus. I feel like this would be an important scene to mention. That even as human-raised as Jesus was, he still turned to the side of light.
I don't know. Maybe it would make more sense to me if I actually read the full biblical scripture regarding this moment. *shrugs*
