The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed in relief when he spotted Ashriel up ahead. He raced up to her, jumping into her lap and scolding her. "Don't EVER do that again! You nearly gave me a heart attack! Leave a note or something! I thought something bad had happened!" The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel sighed, looking down at Raevyn. "I'm sorry, but I did it to get away from your cranky butt. I figured that if you were really worried, you'd think enough to use the cellphones that Lucian gave us." She commented, pulling hers out of her pocket and showing him. "What is up with you today, anyway? You hissed at me this morning." She told him, chucking another stone into the pond.
I would love it if you danced along.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn blinked in surprise at the sight of the cell phone. He'd completely forgotten about that. He sighed, reaching up to rub his cheek against Ashriel's. "Sorry. I didn't sleep well." He murmured apologetically. "I shouldn't have done that." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel sighed. "It's fine...I just...well, it felt weird being hissed at. Made me want to come here, to sit for a while." She said softly, looking out over the pond instead of at Raevyn. If he actually looked at her eyes, he would probably be able to tell that she'd cried for a little bit before he'd gotten there.
I would love it if you danced along.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn's amber eyes softened as he looked at her. Leaning up, he licked the corner of her cheek and crawled off her lap. Sitting beside her, he shifted to human and pulled her onto his lap. "I'm sorry. That was no excuse to hiss at you." He said quietly, cradling her gently. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel nodded as he cradled her, shutting her eyes and calming down. Her breathing was deep, but she didn't go to sleep. She only sat there thinking, thinking about that morning. Her eyes opened after a few minutes, the girl unable to resist the temptation to look at her old home. The first thing she noticed when she looked at the home was that the highchair her parents had used when she was little was out...and the woman in the door was holding a baby. She bit her lip lightly, turning her eyes from the scene. She didn't want to know who the baby was; she didn't want to imagine that she had a little sibling that she would likely never meet. That just made matters worse. What was this? Torture Ash day? It sure seemed like it. She looked at Raevyn, stopping herself from biting her lip more. Her arms wrapped around him, and she pretended she hadn't seen what she had. She was already regretting coming here instead of some other park when she got upset at Raevyn for hissing at her. "It's fine...really...I brought it upon myself, I suppose. You probably wouldn't have hissed if I hadn't mentioned that I needed a shower. I should have waited until you were fully awake." She commented, already finding a way to blame herself for the matter.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn nuzzled her. "It wasn't your fault." He told her soothingly. "I was awake, I just wasn't happy. Listen to me. It was not. your. fault." He said slowly and firmly. "You did nothing wrong. There's no need to apologize." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel nodded, leaning against Raevyn. "If you say so..." She answered, somewhat believing him. She shut her eyes, hugging him tightly. She supposed it was believable enough that it wasn't her fault; she still could see it as her fault, but that was beside the point.
I would love it if you danced along.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn stood up, picking up Ashriel as he did so. "Come on. Let's go somewhere else. I don't like it here." The disgust was clear in his voice. He hated what this place did to Ashriel, how it made her feel. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel didn't comment. Perhaps that had been why she'd been drawn to coming there, because she knew he didn't like it. Her eyes shut as she leaned her head against his shoulder, not telling him what she'd seen. He didn't need to know. She wished she didn't know. She felt better in his arms now; at least she knew he wasn't mad at her, or something.
I would love it if you danced along.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn held her close as he walked, cradling her softly. Once they were far enough away, he paused and asked her, "Do you want to go home or to a different park?" His voice was soft, giving her the choice. He clearly felt bad about upsetting her. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"A different park." Ashriel answered softly, at a level that would be inaudible to anyone but Raevyn. Even Raevyn would only be able to hear it due to his proximity and great hearing. The tone in her voice made it clear that her thoughts weren't all there; some were off, thinking about something else.
I would love it if you danced along.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn had to listen hard to even hear Ashriel. With a sigh, he headed to another park. There he settled at the base of another tree, a weeping willow that drooped all around them. He nuzzled Ashriel. "What are you thinking?" He asked quietly, hoping she wasn't still upset with him. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Ashriel looked at him, startled. She hadn't realized it was so obvious that she was thinking about something. "Nothing..." She said softly, trying to shake off the thoughts as if they were nothing. Her arms hugged him, pulling herself closer to him as she thought.
I would love it if you danced along.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Raevyn sighed. "Don't lie to me Ash. I don't like it." He said quietly. "At least just say you don't want to talk about it. But don't say it was nothing. I can clearly see that it wasn't "nothing". So don't pretend." He sounded disappointed that she would try to lie to him, even after everything they'd been through. The tiger that should be....isn't....
