Yesterday went to check out the lit Christmas tree by my town's movie theater. Because of the timing of me getting off work and when they potentially were doing the main ceremony, I missed the actual part of the lights being turned on. But I was still able to get up close to the tree to get a shot of it. Walked through some of the stores and shopped at the downtown vintage store, got a few things for myself and an item as a gift for a friend. I didn't stay too long because there were a lot of people and I was getting a bit anxious being in small places with so many folks.

One of the items I got myself was a pretty floral covered version of Emma - my favorite Austen book. There were other Austen books and a few other titles but, as I told my friend, I either don't like the other books as much or the floral design seemed contradictory to the book's overall theme. Like having a floral cover for Frankenstein? Hmm... the design's pretty but not really something I want for Frankenstein.

Besides the floral cover, it's also got gold page edges and the pages are of glossy quality. Absolutely gorgeous! Definitely worth the splurge.

Me: *amused* Nothing really. I just grabbed your phone and started playing again.

Tonight, after work, I'm planning on going over to check out the Christmas Ships Parade. The weather looks like it should be nice this time, so we should have better luck than last year. Last year it was cancelled because it was really windy and too dangerous for the ships to cruise around the river at night.

Ah, looks like Fred Claus is on the TV. I wonder if I'll be able to catch JDM's scene or not.
