Good morning! I wasn't able to post last weekend since I was training our new receptionist. She seems to be adapting well to her new position, so that's good.

It's funny how there's this belief that Blackbeard (and associated individuals) were pirates for many years. But if you actually look into what known history we have about said pirates, their badass life is quite short lived. For example, Blackbeard technically was only a pirate for a couple years. In early 1717, he joined Captain Hornigold's crew before eventually receiving his own ship (Queen Anne's Revenge) later in the year to be a pirate in his own right. Then they crossed paths with Stede Bonnet, where he briefly took control of the Revenge. After briefly taking a pardon, he returned the Revenge to Stede... and then returned to a life of piracy. It's around this time he got married to Mary Anne Townsend (and again they were together for a short period of time before she took off to do her own piracy life). Late 1718 Blackbeard is finally captured and killed; Stede Bonnet is hanged not too shortly after ((which amusingly the sentence was delayed 7 different times)).
So... in reality this whole "years of piracy" idea is actually just within a span of 2-3 years. sweatdrop
