With the era that's represented by Ren Faires and my reading of the Bloody Jack series, it's made me become more aware of how various historical events tied together. But it also made me aware of which countries seemed to stand out more than others. Like English, French, Spanish, and Scotland are constantly at war with each other. And obviously America is finding it's place in the world around this time.
And then last night I was like... wait... what is Germany doing all this time? They're right next to all of this action. *shrugs* Just was an intriguing thought.

Stede looked down and let out a small squeal of surprise as he saw the bright red stain seeping through the cloth of his shirt where he had been hit. "Oh god... I think I'm dying." Mary Anne briefly glanced over at him before returning her focus to wiping the blood off her sword on the now limp body she had just previously stabbed. "You're always dying." Stede looked up at her aghast before considering her words for a moment. "Huh... I do seem to have a habit of getting myself into precarious situations, don't I?" She smirked at him as she slid the sword back into its sheath. "Certainly an unique charm of yours, that's for sure."

I've been watching OFMD again and I just caught a piece of dialogue between Calico Jack and Ed while they're having breakfast with Stede. I didn't realize they mentioned Hornigold during that scene. Pretty awesome they snuck that bit of history into OFMD.
For the uninitiated, Hornigold was a famous pirate before Blackbeard became well known. In fact, Edward Teach signed up for the seafaring life under Hornigold and learned how to be a pirate through him, before eventually being given a ship of his own - the Queen Anne's Revenge. Calico Jack happened to be one of the pirates they crossed paths with in Tortuga.

So I keep thinking about a piece of Blackbeard/Stede Bonnet's history that I think about being transitioned into the OFMD canon. At one point in their "relationship," Blackbeard had taken over the Revenge for himself and essentially "house arrested" Stede in his Captain's Cabin. Eventually he relaxed and let Stede free from this lockdown... but still an amusing bit of history.
But putting into the OFMD context would be even more hilarious. I can just imagine Stede returning to the Revenge and Kraken!Ed puts on this whole "You are my prisoner and you are sentenced to stay in the captain's cabin for now on". He'll have the whole dark and scary persona going on. But once the two of them are alone in the Captain's Cabin and he's sure no one (*cough*Izzy*cough*) is listening/watching, Ed will break out into his relaxed, happy personality. "Now how's that for an act of f*ckery?!" xd sweatdrop
