Going to a new one-day con after work today. After having gone to bigger cons for so many years, it is so disorienting trying to figure out what to expect for this event. They have no posted schedule or map on when and where things are taking place. Or if there's additional costs for the celebrity autograph/photo-op stuff.
And with this only being the second year of it happening, there's not much information to go off of.

At least one person was nice and made a handmade map of where things were going to be - at least the artist alley vendors and such. So, I can reference that.

Once it officially starts in about 20 minutes, we'll see if anyone will post a copy of the printout schedule (if they do one like it seems they did for last year's). So I can see what I will be able to check out aside from the artist alley/vendors when I get there later today after work.

I'm really hoping there will be more shared posts about the event by the time I go on my lunch break. It's so strange having literally not information besides it's happening, and certain celebrities will be there and there's some "secret room." Even the page of the location it's being held at has minimal posts or responses to people's inquiries.

Just weird. Like... if you're going to put on a small con-like event, maybe do enough to satisfy those who regularly attend big time con events. This just makes it seem like it's being poorly managed and the "host" doesn't care that much about easing attendees concerns.

So... that con event I attended yesterday was just "meh."
The celebrities finished doing signings at 5 PM, so they were already gone by the time I got there after work. And the big panel stuff had already happened earlier in the day. So, essentially there was nothing happening when I got there. All that I could do was visit the artist alley vendors, which was alright since I got to say hi to my friends who had tables. But still... I felt like I purchased the "all access" badge for nothing aside from having a keepsake.

I was also surprised to see that in addition to the two celebs they had listed, they also had a couple folks from Grimm who were doing a panel. Like... why didn't you mention those folks too? Or how about the various cosplayers who were doing panels?

*sighs* It's been a long weekend. Don't really want to be here at work right now but I have to be.
