Just face it. Mouse is amazing.
Ashriel shook her head. "We can always nuke it in the microwave. But...fine, you can eat it now...IF you want me to get really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really mad at you." She said as she held her spatula against the currently cooking fish, looking at Raevyn as she did so.

Raevyn actually whimpered. His fingers twitched as if he wanted to grab the fish, but he didn't. He sat at the table, staring at the fish. He cast the occasional glance at the spatula Ashriel held though. "Are you SURE I can't eat it?" He asked with a whine. "Yes, I'm sure." Ashriel smiled, though, as she saw that Raevyn went to sit at the table. She had gotten something special on her trip the other day for Raevyn, since he was stuck at home. She'd have to give it to him after dinner. Her fish finished, and she turned, plating the fish. "Now you can take either piece." She said, bringing both plates to the table and sitting down.

Raevyn fidgeted as the last piece of fish cooked. He was anxious to eat but he waited like Ashriel wanted. His eyes lit up as she finally came to the table. He hesitated a second, then took the first piece, leaving the hot piece for Ashriel. He grinned at Ash. "Bon appetite!" Ashriel smiled when he took the colder piece. "Thank you..." She said softly, eating her fish. Once she was finished, she walked away from the table, moving to dig under the couch for something. After a moment, she pulled out a grocery bag. Out of the grocery bag, she pulled out a little bell which was stuffed with something... Ash presumed that Raevyn would recognize the substance. She sat it on the table in front of him before walking back to sit on the couch.

Raevyn purred with pleasure as he ate the fish. Finishing, he watched her curiously as she dug under the couch. He was about to ask her what she was doing when he caught a whiff of the catnip. His amber eyes grew wide. "Catnip!!" He squealed, having shifted to his cat form. He pounced on it, sending it flying. Laughing, he raced after it, playing with the toy. "You deserve it..." Ashriel muttered, smiling as she watched Raevyn chase his toy around. The bell wouldn't ring until the catnip was gone, but Ashriel was pretty sure that she'd hear a chime before Raevyn would finish with it. She stood up to do the dishes while Raevyn played, smiling at her cat/husband. It was an odd combination; she had to admit to that. Still, she wouldn't give him up. As usual when she made fish, there weren't any leftovers - one less mess to take care of. She sighed as she finished, laying down on the couch with one of her books.

Raevyn seemed oblivious to everything, his laughter ringing in Ashriel's head as he played. His energy was boundless as he chased the bell, leaving little trails of catnip across the floor. He paused occasionally to roll in the catnip, burying his face against the carpet and inhaling it deeply. He was purring hard enough Ashriel could hear him from across the room. He chewed at the ball for a minute before battering it across the room again, shooting after it. It was worse than a kid on sugar, though he was more easily contained than a child. Ashriel smiled as she heard Raevyn's laughter. It made her feel good to hear that she'd chosen the right gift. He seemed hyperactive...that was good. He needed to relax, just once. She felt awful making him worry so much. Perhaps she should give him catnip, then leave next time she wanted to go work...or something else that freaked him out. After all, he seemed not to notice anything at all at this point. She smiled at his purring, the sounds of him playing slowly lulling her to sleep as she read her book. Eventually, the book just dropped onto her chest and she fell asleep.

Raevyn played and chewed on the bell until enough catnip was gone for the bell to ring. He paused, hearing it ring. Well. That was new. It made him want to play more though. He played until he was finally exhausted and crawled up onto the couch. He shoved his way under Ashriel's arm, cuddling with her as his purr thrummed. He settled down, curled against her like a kitten, a small on his muzzle as he slept. Ashriel woke up relatively early the next day. Well, that was to be expected, with how much she'd been sleeping lately. She lightly set Raevyn aside, chuckling quietly at how cute he looked. She put him laying where she'd been so that he wouldn't notice the difference in warmth too much and went about taking her shower. She got dressed and ready before there was a little, quick knock on the door.

Raevyn yawned and stirred but only to roll over in his spot before going back to sleep. His ears flicked at the sound of the knock but other than that he didn't move. He was obviously tired from all his playing as he slept soundly. Lixini bounced giddily on the other side of the door, excited. Ashriel smiled as she saw that Raevyn hadn't yet woken. She opened the door, smiling when she saw Lixini. "Shhh...Ray and Raevyn are both still asleep. Let's get going..." She said, stepping out and closing the door after her. She had grabbed her phone, so there was at least that. But it wasn't like she was about to wake Raevyn up.

Lixini clapped a hand over her mouth, smothering her giggles. She bounced down towards Alex and the car. "Come on! Let's get the girl's day rolling!" She said cheerfully, though she was careful to keep her voice down to a normal tone rather than her usual squeal.
