"Considering who the man was going to listen to in your absence, I think I was the best option," said Mary Anne. "I am a pirate myself after all. Unknownst to him."
"I do hope you won't get any clever ideas because of this."
"Nassau is all yours, Miss Guthrie. You don't need to worry about that," said Mary Anne. "I have found myself growing tired of being on land for too long. I wouldn't want to tie myself down with an island."
Eleanor took a step back looking at the woman before her in shock and confusion.
"We all have our secrets, Miss Guthrie," added Mary Anne, smirking.

Our library is doing the 100 book challenge again this year. I'm not too fond of the update they did for the tracker page. Like I understand people would want to keep track of the titles of what they read for the year, especially if they don't use Goodreads. But for me, I'm not going to use it... plus it sort of disrupts the whole aesthetic of seeing all of the colored-in books all together on one page, rather than the two sections of the pamplet now. sad

*sighs* I had my black snow boots tied to my travel bag and at some point yesterday when I was walking to my car from work to head home, they must have come undone. I called to have staff check as soon as I got home and noticed they weren't on my bag but they didn't find anything. And I checked again this morning but nothing. Such a shame since they were nice boots.

Everyone keeps going "Oh, you made back in again!" And I'm just like "Yeaaaaahhhh..."
Honestly, roads downtown look worse than the highway does. The snow just got packed together along the town streets but on the highway, most of the snow where people have been driving has blown away (because it's so powdery), so it's pretty much clear in the lane that's been created.

Going back to the boots...
Finding out they were missing just kicked up my anxiety. I kept going "When the hell did they fall off?" And trying to replay my memories of my walk out of the building to my car, trying to remember the times I double checked they were still there and try to get a better idea where they may have fallen. Definitely was hard to try to focus on other stuff because my mind kept going to it. I can feel my mind still trying to do it right now even though I've checked everywhere and they aren't around and can be considered officially lost.

My mood has fallen since finding out those boots were lost. I know they're just shoes... but still. It's quite frustrating when someone who keeps such good track of personal belongings suddenly has something go missing. Especially when it happened in such a short span of distance and period. *sighs*
