((This thing may be running out of gas. ><;; ))
"I think it's your turn to hold Anise by the way." Van said, his arms in need of a break as he handed the baby over to Mala.

{I don't want it to run out, though! D:
I do have an idea for if this does deflate or if you would like to make another 1x1, although I doubt it's that great. Since I feel like saying it regardless, what if we started back from the beginning - but with Evil!verse Mala and Van and Riley?}
Mala took Anise and gazed down at the baby. She was simply adorable! Good thing they were fictional characters too, so they wouldn't have to deal with nearly as much slobbering or pooping.

((Oh gawd. I can't even begin to imagine Evil!Van or Riley. XD ))
While Mala amused herself with Anise, Van wandered about the perimeter of the fountain, the primary cause of that pesky de ja vu feeling. 'Oh, why the hell not?' Reaching into his pocket for a coin, he made a wish that things got better for them all and that Anise would grow up good and healthy before flipping it into the water. His eyes traced the coin as it quickly flipped through the air, stopping part way when his gaze was caught by a familiar placard on the fountain's second tier. It looked like it had fallen victim to time and been polished to look nice on many an occasion, but the cover of time didn't fool his eyes as he stared at it.

((Well...Okay, Van would probably be very Daemon-ish I guess....I have no idea about the other two...I'm just too good at playing good characters and fail at playing baddies. I'm just too nice for my own good. :3 ))

{I think Riley would probably be manipulative, keeping an innocent face for his still over-protective sister? Or a spoiled brat? I'm not sure. I do know that Mala would be much more bitter than this current incarnation of herself and she would also be a materialistic, vain woman.
Don't worry, you do great on those few times that you do play them. If you would rather not, though, I understand.}
Mala saw the look on Van's face and grew to be quite concerned. "Honey? What's wrong?"

"It's my home town....The place changed so much over time I didn't even recognize it...." Van said softly as he stared down into the water where coins once wished upon had collected at the bottom. "But that plate....It's the same one they had on the old well commemorating the town's founding." he said looking back up at the worn placard.
((We could, if only out of desperation.))

{Okay. ^.^ Btw, I posted for you in Big Damn Heroes.}
Mala's eyes widened in disbelief at what she had just heard. "Van? Are you sure? I thought you didn't remember much of anything before your godhood."
{I just thought of something. What if his old home was still there somehow? Better yet, what if his sister's ghost was haunting it?}

"A bit of it came back before, remember? But seeing the same well with the same plaque on it for several years, it's going to get burned into your brain, even if it does get buried away for a while." Van said, still staring at the fountain. It was kind of hard to believe that a dinky little town with a tiny well in the middle had grown to be so big and fancy, even if thousands of years had passed.
((You know, I hadn't even thought of that. This was just kind of 'emergency plot twist a** pull' really. xd ))

Mala kissed Van lightly on the cheek and smiled faintly. "I understand. Would you like to roam around this place for a bit, get to know your old home better?"

Van nodded slightly, still rather blown away by it all. As he looked up and around the town, he didn't know where to begin his re-exploration of it all. Gods only knew what shreds of familiarity were left after a few thousand years had gone by. And yet, a stream of memories had already begun to trickle back to him.

Mala stood patiently beside Van while she held and fed Anise. She remained silent, lest she ruin any memories he could currently be having.

((I just realized, new shared experience number three for Van: breast feeding. XD ))
'Left past the clock tower...and three blocks down....' Van stared up at a clock tower at one end of the plaza, trying to remember where his house was before he broke off into a run, as if it would disappear if he didn't get there as soon as possible.

{Yup! Lol XD}
Mala chased after Van as quickly as she could without disturbing Anise too much. She broke the silence and called out, "Van! Wait up!"
