Asriel closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and looked down at the food. It was familiar, something very common in Eureka. Decorated nicely, it steamed with heat. It reminded her a lot like home; it was a dish they only served in the winter though. It had seafood in it, mostly because Eureka focused itself a lot on its coasts and warm climates unlike the colder hunting climates here. She took a bite; it tasted very similar to the original dish yet because most of the ingredients were substituted or imported, it didn't taste the same. Nonethless, she found enjoyment in eating the dish.
She looked to Alister, watching him for a moment before minding herself to her food. "You should be talking. Wouldn't it be unfair for me to be acqainted with your odd country yet you are not willing to do so for me? Besides..." She paused, taking the pear from him and biting into it, "I'll be living here from now on so I have all the time in the world to get used to your food," she stated and handed him back the pear with a smirk. She stood then, only finishing about half her food. Unaware of Alister's schedule, she ruled out her own. "I'll excuse myself then," she murmured and pushed in her chair. She then headed to the door, deciding that maybe a quick tour of the inside and then a small outing would do good for today.

Was that a lie? Asriel didn't know but if it was, Alister sure was a good actor. She looked down at his hand as he ahd grabbed her arm. It was the first time he had touched her and this feeling of his hand on her arm was surely unpleasant. She made a small frown before looking up, her blue eyes staring straight into his. "If you desire my presence that much," she gave a small smile, "I am your wife, am I not?" Of course, she joked. Spending the day with him was not on her agenda and she figured that maybe she could shake him off. "So! What do you have planned for me, dear?" She managed to force out the last bit, giving a rather fake smile. She'd pretend to act sweetly as his wife, restrain the many curses she wanted to give him, and show him just how nice she could be without screaming. It was what was to be expected, right? sriel was a princess after all. Yet...being with him every moment was killing her a little inside. She wanted to go run around and explore, not have to tag around with this snail all day.

Asriel's eyes widened as she listened to Alister. Yet his words made her smile slightly and in the end, she ended up grinning. "Well, then, let's go!" She took his hand and tugged him along. Going to the forest seemed appealing. She wouldn't mind adventuring around there. After awhile, she stopped. She didn't know how to get outside so she had slowed down. Her smile faded. "Because...It's not like I like you either. I didn't ask to get married. I don't want to spend the day with you. But..." she turned to look at him, her blue eyes distant yet held a tinge of loneliness, "Since your mother said we should stick together today, I'll endure it. Because I don't..." She stopped. It was because she didn't have a mother. A mother to tell her what to do, to scold her, to love her. She was envious of Alister for that reason. She let go of his hand and looked away. No, she shouldn't get so emotional. She shook her head again and looked at him. "Besides, who are you calling dainty?" She put her hands on her hips stubbornly. "Let's go to the forest and we'll see who's laughing at who," she stated. However, getting there would be his job. She didn't know much about Demetria and her sense of direction was horrible so she left him to lead her.

Asriel remained silent. She thought it was pretty obvious that he hated her but was she mistaken? Along with getting forced into marriage, he acted so cold and irritated in front of her. Did she judge too harshly of him? He was correct. He never said he didn't like her. But that also didn't mean that he liked her either. Asriel thought for a moment. Absently, she got onto the horse. Then what did he think of her as? Asriel mindlessly played with the mane of the horse before it started to move. Asriel was surpised and held on tightly. She had never really been around such a large animal before nor had she ever ridden one. She gripped the reigns tightly, making sure she didn't fall off. The horse snorted and twitched its ears. She was intrigued by the animal, watching it as he trotted to the forest. She glanced over to Alister. He seemed to like animals. She smiled to herself. He was secretly a softie, wasn't he? She patted Bloom's neck, her excitement rising. It was her first time riding a horse, but it wasn't all too hard, was it? She was wary, however, having difficulty with controlling the thing. She didn't want to look like a bother so she sat still in her saddle. Yet the horse almost seemed to sense her unease and slowed its pace a little yet still kept up with Alister.

Asriel found herself relaxing a bit. She didn't want to make the horse nervous because she was so anxious. She just let him do all the walking. Looking up at Alister, she noticed the difference in his tone. He looked much...happier. Asriel watched him for a moment. He looked so happy being outside. She could understand why. This was her first real outside experience. She felt the wind caress her bare arms and cheeks, feeling the sun's rays shine upon her and the scent of the woods was enchanting. Almost like a dream.
And yet, Alister insinuated that he was being forced to get along with her. She really wanted to know what he thought about her. She looked down for a moment before opening her mouth to speak. "Aren't you envious of your brother? You work so hard trying to be in the good eyes of your parents yet you won't even be king. Yet, he doesn't even have to work as hard, the crown is already going to be given to him. Are you angry?" It was the first question on the top of her head. She surely didn't want to ask very personal questions like his opinion of her, but she too felt like getting to know Alister.

"Ah," Asriel replied, playing with a blade of grass near her feet. She sat across from Alister, tucking her legs under her as she minded herself to picking at the grass. It was cool under the tree they sat under and the clearing was a remarkable sight. Silently, she marveled at the scenery. It took a moment to really answer Alister. So he didn't care about power, hmm? It said a lot about his character. She remembered last night and the scars on his back. Was that from his training and part in the military? Probably, as Alister seemed to have mentioned it.
Asriel patted the grass as she listened to that last part. His parents didn't care much for him? At least he had parents. However, she could understand having a guardian who didn't care much for her. It was a solemn prospect; to be raised without the love of a nurturing parent. She looked up at Alister for a moment before looking back down, at the grass.
"I think...I think that's very admirable. Instead of not pining over something you'll never have, you make the most out of your situation. I'd certainly be angry with myself if I was in your position but I guess that goes to show you're the better person here," she offered a small smile. "But...What do you want to do in life? What do you want to accomplish? Surely you want your name engraved in history," she commented.

Asriel watched him speak, laying her chin on her knees. Though he did make a point, Asriel thought that not being remembered was sad. It was something she feared; not being remembered. She feared that if she didn't make her mark in the world, she wouldn't have the motivation to live, that no one would even rememeber the half blood princess who rose from shame. Yet, she didn't say anything about it but listened further into Alister's dreams. It was rather cute to think of traveling the world to see it in all its glory. She'd enjoy that, she thought.
And yet, she forgot that she'd be asked questions as well and wasn't prepared to answer. She remained silent for a minute taking in his question. How was she to answer? She didn't want him to think different of her because she lived in a room all her life. That she was hidden away from society because her blood was not pure royalty. She opened and then closed her mouth, hesitating before deciding what she had to say.
"Home..." The mere word made her laugh a little. She would never call that tower a home. No, not even the castle her grandfather reigned at. She cleared her throat again. "It is very boring and lonely. But its a nice place to live," she said blandly. She decided not to tell him. Since she didn't know how normal life was like in the castle either, she made something up.
