"Right," Indrallious uttered and followed in after his brother. Seeing men in uniforms around was nothing new around this time, so no one paid much a pretty eye towards them except the owner who stood behind a counter cleaning glasses. Indrallious surely didn't want to have to deal with a group of bystanders goggle-eying him. He sat at a table near a window, quietly, before propping his elbow on the table and letting his chin lay on his hand. "Anything dealing with women is trouble. Ilarus will have double the trouble since he and his betrothed are still young," he commented. Indrallious watched his brother as he spoke; it was a habit of his to keep eye contact with people unnecisarily. He sighed a little before a tavern worker came to ask their order. Indrallious waited for Roanin to answer before he did, if only to seem courteous. "But I haven't met any of the sisters and I'm not one for rumors. I'll see how they are when I see them. Which should be soon. It'd be rude to not introduce myself sooner, before the wedding." He played with a dark lock of his hair mindlessly as he said this.

Roanin quite liked his brother's seating choice. While he didn't quite match his brother's seating style, he still managed to relax just a bit. However, his noble mask was on. Call it habit, if one sees it that way. "Indeed...I pray he doesn't do anything rash. He is definitely the most lively of us three." He turned to the worker and ordered just a simple sandwich and a mug of their local spring mead. Naturally, at lunch time, it was watered down as not to waste it for the coming evening, so Roanin was quite content knowing the meal would be light, quick, and would sit in his stomach well.
Rumors. Roanin found himself staring out the window, watching the people pass. Their daily lives weren't affected by things such as a forced marriages or nobles pestering them for royal favors. Roanin admired the common folk: they managed good, hard, honest work and managed with a smile on their faces. Roanin sighed and shook his head lightly. "I know rumors are to be taken with a grain of salt, but if I go in expecting the worst, then at least anything else will be better. I'm already dreading it. Might as well prepare and position myself accordingly." Roanin adjusted his collar just a bit and looked out the window again, slipping into a contemplating silence.

Indrallious looked slowly up at the worker when his brother ordered before he spoke as well, ordering a coffee. Indrallious was never much of a drinker. After dismissing the worker, who took his time getting back behind the counter and preparing their orders, Indrallious lifted his chin and let his cheek lay on his hand. He looked out the window as well, letting Roanin speak. "I just don't want to assume that they are as prissy and stubborn as I imagine them to be." He sighed and closed his eyes, a bit weary himself.
"And between you and me," he paused, whispering his thoughts. "I don't want to get married at my age so soon. I mean, I know it's for the peace and tranquility between the two countries but...Is there no other way?" He looked at Roanin seriously now, his eyes cold and emotionless. It was rare for Indrallious to express his feelings but when he did, they were very deep and personal. "What if I don't love her?" This was whispered in a quiet voice, whether Roanin could hear it or not. He then looked away before sighing and closing his eyes again. Such a sentimental moment wouldn't be heard from Ren so soon after this.

{I apologize for the very late reply. Went to camp for one week and there was no internet connection.} βββIf Ilarus would ever attend a council meeting, he was sure that the universe would explode.
He knew Indrallious had also skipped those dreadful meetings, so he was saved from another long lecture about his failure of a position as a prince. As if he hadn't had enough of those already. Roanin, however, was certainly boring himself to death, droning on and on with his father and the other council members about warfare and whatnot. His elder brother was more than enough to uphold their prestigious family name; there was no point for the youngest, most boisterous of the brothers to get into the picture and tarnish it. So, Ilarus had busied himself in the morning with a nap among the trees in the courtyard. Indeed, the air of the outside world was far better than the prison walls and wardens of the castle itself.
He was feeling well rested, especially after several days of avoiding his father and mother inside the castle every moment he saw them turn around a corner. The task became more difficult after day two; his father had sent the servants to replace them in their search and he had to avoid a dozen or so of them. By the time day five came around, his father had given up on the search and called it off completely. Ilarus had to admit, he was a little disappointed; it was fun while it lasted. Climbing up the trees to hide, disguising himself to trick them (once he wore a maid's dress. Though it was embarrassing, it was hilarious to see the head maid scream in terror and faint at the sight of him), and tripping the servants as they ran for him (he apologized for the sprains) was something to keep him busy throughout the week.
However, he was left to wonder what an important matter it was for his parents to go through such measures to find him. Then again, he felt that he would be an inconvenience in the matter anyway; Roanin and Indrallious could handle it themselves. Besides, if he had been caught, it would be endless lectures and meetings every single day. Ilarus shuddered at the thought. How awful! But now it was another thing to add to his father's list of why Ilarus had disappointed him as a son...
The young prince shook his head to clear his negative thoughts. He would not allow such things to bring him down, especially after a wonderful nap! A nice meal would cheer him up, certainly! There was a decent tavern not far from where he was.
He walked along the road, greeting the people cheerfully and receiving the same in return as he made way to his destination. As he allowed himself in, he was surprised that his brothers had already beaten him there.
A large smile spread on his face. "So you've decided to stuff yourselves without me? Do you really hate me that much?" he joked as he sat beside Roanin. However, seeing the two serious faces of his brothers (not unusual, but it was stronger today) he frowned and tilted his head in confusion. "What's with the long faces?" βββ

Roanin looked at his brother and sighed, understanding his reluctance. He reached over and grabbed his brother's shoulder, giving it a light squeeze. "I know this doesn't seem like the brightest of things, but I'll do my best to steer father's decision to at least make it so only the oldest shall have to marry. I see no point in dragging in the younger siblings into this. I know it isn't much, but you'll have my word that I'll try as hard as I can." Roanin released his brother and sat back in his chair.
As for that last part, he was going to comment, however he was interrupted by his younger brother, Ilarus. He rubbed his temple briefly before replying to Ilarus, "We're discussing our woes with the upcoming marriages. Clearly, you are either looking forward to it, or our parents haven't caught you yet to tell you." He raised an eyebrow at his younger brother, curious. Had he really no clue about the marriages?

βββMarriages? Was that why the king and queen were searching for him? It was already a surprise to him that his parents had wanted to involve him into any of the kingdom matters, but involving him in a marriage was an even bigger surprise. Mixed with astonishment was anger. Why were they even forcing all of them into this ridiculous idea?
"What!? Marriages!?" Ilarus cried out, appalled. He stood up so quickly in his fury that he knocked his chair over. "You mean they expect us to marry some woman without even letting us decide? We're the ones getting married here, shouldn't we have a say in this matter!?" Ilarus began pacing back and forth, a habit he had whenever he felt nervous or frustrated, which summed up his feelings for this particular situation. "I don't want to be tied down to some woman I know nothing about! What if she's hideous? What if she's a horrid, manipulative witch?" He gasped. "What if she's completely dull? I can't be married to someone who's boring!"

Roanin expected that response. When the chair began to tip over, Roanin reached out and caught it, returning it to its resting position while Ilarus paced. He had made quite a scene with heads turning and murmurs picking up. Roanin grabbed Ilarus' shoulder with an iron grip and looked his younger brother in the eyes. "These are our thoughts exactly. Sit down so we can brainstorm how to get you out of this." He sighed and continued releasing his brother. "Currently, we are each to marry the one who is matching our status in the kingdoms: oldest marries the oldest, middle marries the middle, and youngest marries the youngest. The main point of this is a union of our two kingdoms in order to prevent more war. This was the only damn resolution they could come up with."
Roanin rubbed his temples again and stared at his drink, which had just been placed in front of him by a young and clearly nervous serving girl. The second she dropped Roanin and Indrallious' drinks, she slipped away. "After I eat, I have to return to the court anyways. I'll try my best to make it so at least only I have to marry as not to involve both of you."

Indrallious had hidden his raw expression from his brother, putting his head down as Ilarus was to hear the terrible news. Only when the jittery female put his drink down rather loudly next to his ear did he lift his head, back to an expression known best by his brothers. Alas, he felt the same sentiments as his younger brother and the pains of his elder, but he could only but slightly frown at the resolution created from the lips of the latter.
"Roanin, you really are something. To completely put the burden on yourself by letting only yourself marrying while on the path to becoming a king is not only quite troublesome but very unnerving. To think you could handle both a wife and the expectations from father all by yourself is completely absurd." He looked to his older brother as he said this, violet eyes filled with only slight anxiety and a voice with a tone of reasoning. "We are all grown men...I, personally, do not agree to the terms of our marriages but...we should stop complaining and suck it up. Being married doesn't mean that our lives are signed away. If anything, they are but merely dolls in the attic, and we only have to bother with them when we feel like it," he murmured. It was a solemn realization; he already knew that no matter Roanin would say, father's word was law and there was no argument to it. It disheartened Indrallious; but it wasn't like he cared for it really, and it appeared like Indrallious didn't have the heart for it. From the start, he knew he could never marry out of love; his earlier comment to Roanin about his woes of marrying were only just a momentary sentiment and Indrallious would convince himself that it was thus.
Alas, Indrallious returned to his earlier pose with his elbows on the table and leaning slightly forward, picking up the coffee to sip it before weaving his fingers together to place his head in their cradle.

βββIlarus was going to proceed with his rantings, had Roanin not stopped him. As his elder brother gripped him by the shoulder, the young prince took notice of the unwanted attention that resulted from the commotion he had created. Slightly embarrassed, he quietly settled himself back into his chair and listened closely to both of his brothers.
"I would have to agree with Indrallious on the first part,"Ilarus spoke up as soon as the others finished. His eyebrows creased with worry. "Father already expects so much from you; you shouldn't add an unwanted wife to that list of burdens. I suppose it'll be easier if we could all give each other a hand if we share the same problem." Despite his words, Ilarus still found himself brooding silently over his fate, which, by his downcast eyes and evident frown, made his feelings to be outwardly obvious. "Besides, I doubt he would change his mind anyway, even if you try to persuade him." Stubborn old man. Was it really the only way to prevent a war? Ilarus was no military expert, but he was sure there could be another strategy to keep peace between the two kingdoms. Surely. But no, because apparently, his father felt the need to tarnish the definition of true marriage and force a woman on all of them.
There was no point in complaining. This Ilarus knew, but he needed to vent his frustrations, else it would build up inside him and he was sure to explode."Gah! I'm going to be in a foul mood all week if I keep thinking about this!" he finally cried out, irritated. "Let's just order something to eat. I'm starving! I'll pay for everything this time!"

Roanin glanced between the two and sighed. "But at least if I was the only one who married, then it would be no different from what I'd have to handle as opposed to this situation. The only difference would be you two marrying. It's just..." They were right. Father was about as stubborn as they came. And it didn't help that even Mother was going along with the idea. If she didn't care for it, then potentially Roanin would weasel in some self-doubt into his father's mind, but no, his father's iron will was ever present with this decision. "As much as it pains me to think you two will be tied down as well, you're right. I guess we've got each other to moan to when we're practically at the point of pulling our hair out in frustration."
Taking a sip of his drink, Roanin glanced at Ilarus, eyebrow raised. "You're paying? Had I only known, I would've ordered something bigger." He joked, motioning for the worker who had turned his head at his brother's cry of frustration. With a quick turn, the worker was at their table. "My brother would like to order as well. We've already ordered, so have at it." He said, giving his brother a light hearted pat on the back. It was quite the interesting sight to see when the three brothers were together. It definitely relaxed Roanin's shoulders just a bit when they were with each other.

Indrallious had settled down some, silently brooding over the topic at hand, but had nothing more to say on the subject. Or at least, he felt no obligation to. And with that, he sipped his coffee. It sort of comforted him to know his brothers agreed with him; that if one were to get married, they'd all get married. Though he wasn't one to care much for his brothers, he only thought it fair that they do it together. Besides, it was no time to be selfish if it prevented a war. He lightly tapped the table before both he and his brother received their plates. A sandwich lay upon the dish and Indrallious proceeded to eat it with some hesitation, though slight, and look outside the window.
[ Oh my gosh. You probably think I'm a total flake. But... But I have bad, bad, bad, bad, bad news guys. It's been a rough night for me, and inevitably events have enfolded in ways that can't be undone. Due to personal reasons, I cannot go on Gaia for a little while, hopefully not for long. I'm terribly sorry to pause the rp while it has just gotten started to get good, but life comes first and I need to pick up the pieces before I can come back. The easiest option is for someone to take control of my character for awhile, like move him from place to place or something, I don't know. I'm sorry it's on such short notice but I cannot afford to be flexible. I'll see you in a week or two or however long life will take me. ]

βββ{That's alright, very understandable. I hope you'll make it through with whatever you're dealing with.}
"You know what? I'll keep that in mind the next time you're paying!" Ilarus shot back with a grin and punched his elder brother playfully in the arm. He was relieved that the tension was slowly slipping away, replaced by the usual friendliness among the brothers. As the worker came around for his order, he decided on a mug of coffee, three sandwiches, and bread and cheese. The young prince tried to avoid glancing at his brother's plates, only to control his hunger and avoid the temptation of swiping Roanin's sandwich.
"So are we going to meet our wives-to-be?" It was partly an attempt at a conversation, and partly a question of curiosity. It was not that he was so ready to bring up the marriage topic again, but the princesses themselves couldn't be all that bad, could they? "Maybe it would be better if we knew how they were really like so we can understand how to deal with them," he suggested. "Who knows? Perhaps there's a chance we could actually enjoy their company." A distant, dreamy look overtook his face as he stared off into the air. "Maybe, if I go through this marriage, Father might start to like me," he whispered wistfully. It was a far-fetched wish, of course. He had piled up too many disappointments on the king's plate for him to simply cast it all away just because of a marriage. It was a possibility though; an almost nonexistent one, but it was there nonetheless.
The smell of coffee pushed the young prince out of his reverie and without hesitation, Ilarus dove into his food and ate it hungrily.

Roanin raised an eyebrow at Ilarus and a half-smile formed on his face. "Oh, but you always make sure to do it anyways when I'm paying. Surely, I'm allowed to do the same every once in a while!" He said, giving his brother a relaxed smile. As the food was put in front of him, he occupied his hands with his sandwich, if only to prevent Ilarus from taking a bite out of it before Roanin could.
As Roanin took a bit, Ilarus attempted at idle talk and just a bit of wishful thinking. It was good to see his brother hopeful. However, much like he had heard Indrallious' previous comment about love, he also managed to catch the last part of his youngest brother's musings. Roanin, of course, didn't comment, figuring that even for his outgoing youngest brother, some things should be kept in one's own mind. "Or...we'll end up at each other's throats and you'll be dead from boredom. But yes, I'd like to meet my fiancee as well. It would make it a bit easier."

((all right guy, I'm sorry for not being active in this RP. I feel like I've been lost. I didn't have internet this past week because I was on a cruise. I will have internet for the next month mostly and I'm going to try to keep active. Could someone give me a quick review of what's happened so I know how to jump back in?))
