Guild, I need help deciding.

Personally, I think the first one looks a lot cleaner than the second one. I feel like the second one is too busy with two 2" triangles per area. Have you tried one 2" triangle per area?

It's gonna be a tree skirt. My partner's genetically Jewish and though his whole family is athiest, they chose to sometimes celebrate Hanukkah and other times celebrate Christmas. I got invited, so I wanted to make something special.

You could be right. Though, since the total size of the quilt would be four feet in its largest dimension, it might feel less busy, but that wouldn't be guaranteed. I should probably at least stick with the first one in an initial run cuz I might not have the skill necessary for the second.
