Adrian went limp in his chains once more as he gritted his teeth. Once Seth and Amaya were gone, he couldn't help but let out a yell of torment and frustration that he was so powerless at the moment and he couldn't save Amaya.

Cali didn't sleep much that night. She laid next to Riley to comfort him and let him know he was safe, but she was worried about her parents. She and Falon had stayed up for a few hours, discussing what was going on, what they were going to do, and what the hell Falon was up to. Cali was still nervous, but she didn't have much a choice at the moment, except to be there for Riley and do her best to watch over him. Once the sun had risen, Cali went out to the kitchen to get some coffee that Falon had began brewing, needing the caffeine at the moment.
"You don't seem like a coffee drinker." Falon muttered in observation as she watched Cali drink her coffee.
"I don't drink it much except for when I need it." Cali yawned, taking another sip and shuddering at the taste.

Riley slowly opened his eyes the next morning and just lay there while he thought about last night. Once everything came back to him, he curled up into a little ball and pulled the covers over his head. He wished it had all been a bad dream, but the unfamiliar apartment proved otherwise.

"So what's the plan? My mom is probably already under that guy's control." Cali asked as she looked over to Falon.
"We can go out, find some more mutates and see if they want to not live in basically a second ring, and then come back here before nightfall is the best plan I've got." Falon muttered with a shrug.

"No!" Riley had heard what they were saying and suddenly burst up from under the blankets. "Mom's fine! She and dad would never give in to some creep or whatever, I know it! They've probably already kicked those guys' asses and are just looking for us!"

Cali sighed. She knew it had been years since her mom had gone without her meds for more than a few hours. And she could tell that her illness had been bothering her lately, but there was no point trying to argue it with Riley when it would just upset him more. "I haven't gotten a call on my phone Riley...They would've called." She murmured, deciding she needed him to hear something about them.

"Maybe they can't! They wouldn't call if they can't do it!" Riley said, determined to believe his parents were okay.

"Your parents got caught. It happens." Falon said as she cracked her neck, a little annoyed with the boy's disbelief.
Cali glared at Falon, but knelt down to Riley's level. "Riley, mom and dad would have called by now. We're on our own for a while." She explained.

Riley nodded his head slightly with a small pout. He didn't want to believe something bad actually happened to his parents, even if it was likely.

Seeing Riley's nod, Cali went off to make her little brother breakfast, leaving him with Falon for the moment, who was silently sipping her coffee.
