"So?! Mom and dad are awesome! They've taken down plenty of guys before and they can do it again! It doesn't matter how old they are! And dad's always saying how if anything happens he'll be there to take care of us!"

Falon rolled her eyes, pulling her book up to keep her company since Riley wouldn't listen to her.
"Here you go, eggs and toast." Cali said, handing him a plate of scrambled eggs and toast. It wasn't much, but it was at least something, and it would keep him full for a while.

Riley took his plate and ate quietly, not speaking up again unless they started doubting his parents again.

"So whenever he's done, we'll head out." Falon muttered to Cali, getting up to go take a shower now. She disappeared in the bathroom a moment later, feeling a little more comfortable to let her guard down for a a few minutes since other people were in the apartment.

"I don't think she has very much experience talking to other people." Cali told him. She was kind of with Falon on the issue of her parents, but she'd just go along with Riley's beliefs for his sake.

Cali sighed, looking to her brother now. "Mom and dad aren't as strong as they used to be. And Falon told me this guy controls mutates. Mom isn't very strong mentally. The doctors said she'd get worse as she got older. I can hope they're going to be okay, but I watched mom almost die three times now." She muttered, looking to the floor now with a sigh.
